So are we getting any new weapons any time soon? I remember signing up to be a heavy swordsman but so far all i am is a heavy hammerman (can't touch this).

Doubt you will be getting new weapons anytime soon, the lack of swords was one of the reasons I changed profs. Plus the fact you had the Hack added recently and have the scythe as a quest schematic where some other profs have yet to see new weapons. Maybe they wee be nice to all of us when the CR comes around.
