Thread: MSwords + Tk or Fencer

I'm going to redo my template shortly, keeping swords at the center. Mostly interested in killing elders and kryats. I'll keep some med skills for bleeds, heals, and maybe cure states.
I can't decide if I want TK skills, Fencer skills, or a combo. Seems like 4000 TK gives meditate, and some Fencer skills give defense Vs. Dizzy/KD.
Thoughts?

hard choice..take both.. what else do u have besides swords? im swords tkm WITH fencer defense.. i say go both if you can.

ATM, I am swords + MCM. The recent nerfs and bugs have made CM unworthy of all the skill points and complete lack of defense. Once I finish the medical xp grind for FS xp, I'll dump CM and get Mswords and more defense. Sounds like I should dabble in Tk and fencer.

this is my favorite template for hunting elders and krayts......my guildy has this temp and he is a pure tank.......
Mswords
Fencer 4440
Medic 3040
Pistoleer 0040
that defense tree in pistoleer with fencer gives you plenty def vs dizzy/kd
and you can heal yourself with some nice d and e stims with mu40 of course
and Mswords....well you know what thats for

This is a little strayed but I feel the best template I've ever used for killing krayts and elder is MSwords + Mbrawler + 4400 Fencer + 4004 TK + medic 3040 + FS melee speed. Starting with medic the first aid II box is a must for elders because you need to be able to heal the bleeds, 0040 medic for the Stim D/E usage, 4000 Fencer and 0004 TK for the Melee/Ranged Defense, 0400 Fencer for the KD and posture defense which you will have 75 Knockdown defense and 60 Posture change defense, 4000 TK for the meditate which you can do without but I personally like the wound healing, and Mbrawler is great because you get +5 to 2h speed but more importantly you get Intimidate 2. I have that template now and I personally love it. I also have experimented with having higher Knockdown defense for hunting Giant Canyon Krayts but even when taking Thakitillo they still land a KD on me so really I dont see the use for having much more. I can't say I am sure about the dizzy defense though. That is my suggestion, if anyone has any comments on my template please make them I would like feedback.

Well what I'm unsure about is melee/ranged defense or state defense.
Because I'm looking at getting Master swords, working on it now, but am unsure of what else to get.
2000 Medic, M swords and M brawler is a given. But then I'm wondering... Should I get as much melee/ranged defense as possible or get state defense? There are several differnet templates to go but its impossible to get both defenses at a high number.
But with high end mobs they hit you all the time so that extra melee/ranged defense doesn't really seem to help any especially if they stun you, which happens alot. Also, swordsman lose alot of accuracy when blinded. So for those reasons I'm thinking maybe state defense is a bit more important.
