Thread: How can I earn 2-handed xp as a novice brawler?
I think that this was the "heavy axe" at eng2 or eng3, but I'm not sure. When the servers come back up I'll test it out and let you know
If anyone knows for sure, please post, I'd like to know too!

I don't even know what weapon to use. It's not staff, that's polearm. It's not 2-handed axe, you need Intermediate 2handed for that cert.
Victis, use the heavy axe. Some of the newbie NPC enemies will drop them. If that doesn't work, check the bazaar terminals. People usually try to sell them.
Next, get very friendly with a Weaponsmith and try to coax them into learning intermediate melee weapon crafting. Because, honestly, most will choose blaster crafting over melee crafting any day. Once they have that skill they can forge you a two-handed axe.
Just because you aren't certified to use a weapon doesn't mean you can't use it. All it means is that you will not be as effective with it as you would be if you were certified. Pick up a heavy axe somewhere (bazaar, another player, or looted) and start swinging away. You will probably want to start with fairly easymobs at first to guage how you do and work your way up to harder mobsthat you can still kill pretty easily without a lot of downtime.
If you're not certified with a weapoin you will be unable to solo anything as you'll be hitting for 8-10 damage at a time..
The heavy axe is the 2-h melee newbie weapon (equivalent of the survival knife, CDEF guns or wood staff), but isn't craftable until Engineering IV, so they may not be easy to find straight away.
