Thread: Why aren't there any weapons?

Hi! I am an expert two handed swordswoman (hehe) about to become a master, hopefully by this weekend. I have having a horrible time finding a weapon. I have a great axe, does terrific damage, but I really want a two handed sword or a scythe. I can't find a weaponsmith who can (or perhaps is willing) to make anything for me. Aren't there weapons just "out there" somewhere? Can they be looted from NPCs? If anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it.

I'm still using my heavy axe as well, it's because alot of weaponsmiths choose to pick up the ranged crafting lines of weaponsmithing because there are way more ranged users than meele users.

I actually found someone who will be able to make vibro axes and cleavers within 1 day, but that's on Bloodfin.

I've used a 2H axe for everything so far and while it's okay, it's still the beginning weapon for a Swordsman, and when you compare it to the other fighting profession, i don't think you'd see a novice pistoleer/carbineer/rifleman using a CDEF pisol/etc.

Well, i bought my two-handed curved swords from Grem on Tatooine and i saw that he also crafts the two-handed axe...not sure about the cleaver.

There is some discussion going on on the Bria board about him and you will have to decide for yourself if you want to get your stuff from him or not.

One of the two-handed curved swords i bought from him has damage up to 138.

The one i used in beta had damage up to 200 and was therewith the weapon with the best stats i owned in betacompared toa crafted cleaver and two-handed axe and a looted vibro axe i also owned.

That's kinda a rip for a 2H Curved Sword unless it has fast attack speed, my Heavy Axe does more damage than that

I agree, Visk.

I'm not home right now to verify the stats, but i think i compared the stats to my axe when i bought the sword and the speed IS better.

Yet i also know that there is probably lots of room for improvement, but i guess only time and more advanced weaponsmiths will get us and our weapons where we want them.

For now, i have to admit, isimply bought italso for the looks, eventhough my favourite in looks is the cleaver, not knowing (yet?) what the scythe lookslikeuntil and if it gets implemented.

I also dont know which weapon will ultimately have the best stats....all i can say is that the weapon with the best stats i owned in beta was the two-handed curved sword, which had better stats than the only power hammer i ever came across in beta, which doesn't mean much, because i guess in beta also we didn't reach a state, where weaponsmiths were able to get the most out of a weapon. As far as i underrstand it depends on the quality of resources used and experimentation...and then there might still be some power ups or skill enhancing items out there we are not aware of yet.

I need a power hammer...

Im gona be waiting a looooong time... its a master weaponsmith weapon

But i also knew this exact situation was going to happen 3 months ago... It was an obvious mistake in the way crafting proffessions were designed... I really did try to let the devs know in earlyer beta what some better solutions would be... i think something like schematic placement was set in stone long before i was ever around....

Oh well... everyone is still relativly new... things should start picking up... especially when weaponsmiths start selling weapons and get xp rolling in from people using those weapons....

but *sigh* i still want a power hammer....a scythe would be nice too

I was finally able to find a 2H curved sword on Gorath last night. The weaponsmith I bought it from admitted to me he didn't have good materials at all, and that he hadn't experimented a whole lot on it. With that said, damage was like 20 - 135 (so a little lower than my heavy axe) but the speed was 4 as opposed to 5.5. So, I'm pretty happy with it - and they will only get better. The only down-side is the increased action usage for specials, but like I said this should get better with better materials and such.

Seems the only solution if you want a good 2 handed weapon is to make one yourself. I have yet to find anything better than a 2handed axe on starsider.

I have a feeling all of us are going to become our own weaponcrafters =)
