Thread: Beyond Master Heavy Swordsman?
- The Outdoorsman (Big Game Hunter)
- Antarian Ranger (possesses minor force resistances and abilities)
- Combat Ranger (master of guerilla warfare)
Those were just examples of ideas I had for the Ranger profession. Now that you hopefully see where I am going with this idea, I would love to see where you would like theSwordsman to go after achieving the title of Master Heavy Swordsman. Any and all input is welcome, but please try to keep it constructive.

nice idea for it seems that once u master thats just it. i hope they think of something to give us some defineation.
an interesting idea similar to the Alternative Advancement threads rummaging around the forums. Your Ranger ideas split it up into three distinct paths, so what can we split the Swordsman up into?
Weaponry, most definately.
- crusher:a class focussing around the heavy blunt weapons, the axes, the hammers. It adds damage, possibly at the cost of decreasing speed (we don't want to simply give people more damage at the speed cap. If you choose for more damage, you'll have to hand in some speed.) This class focusses on raw power.
- (samurai): In parantheses because that's not a name we can use: This class revolves around the curved sword and scythe. You achieve more accuracy and speed. You don't have to hand in damage, because the power hammer already has more DPS by a long distance. No reason to make these classes weaker then they are. State effects would be appropriate as well. This class focusses on techniques.
Very good ideas. The last paragraph is what I would like to talk about briefly though. I see it exactly as you do with the exception of one thing. You gain prestige points to advance and these are earned by completing quests assigned to you by the NPC trainer for that specialized class. These missions cannot be grinded. You can only do so many per day/per week.

- Cleaver: focussing on the heavy edged weapons. However Im not familiar with them as I am with katana's, so I can't say what this class might be like.
On a side note, these classes ought to take up 0 skill points, require no training (the skills come naturally) and only come available after let's say you've been a Master of the profession for a month + 900K XP. I don't think we'd need a full blown profession, just a number of boxes that follow one another in a linear fashion (no trees you can choose from) and each box shuold require a large but not inordinate amount of XP. Let's say 300K for the first one (after the 900K XP one), and 50K more for each next box
