I'd pick carbaneer. Mainly because you can stack counterattack ( barely ), also for the area Dizzy KD and Stun attacks. Rifleman would come in a close second, because of the jawa Ion rifle, and the ability to target the mind pool, But i can already do that using the powerhammer, and it just doesn't really appeal to me. Pistoleer i have no interest in at all, mainly cause of the Low DPS and the lack of usefull specials.

What about you guys?

Probably Pistoleer, because they may be getting dual-wielding.

Going that way myself. Already Master Pistoleer, just working on Swordsman.

Carbineer does sound good because of the area KD and such, but if I had the skill points I'd master Rifleman. Only reason is because in both PvE & PvP I would do fairly well whether melee/ranged. Plus I would have the option to use multiple damage type weapons based on the target I'm fighting, and I'd be damaging the same stat (mind). But that's just my opinion, hope you find a nice profession to go along with Swordsman

area kd doesn't work and most likely will be removed during revamp.

I'm a sword/rifle so I can stack the bleeds. 4 mind bleeds is a pretty good DoT.

I would keep my current template of Master Brawler, Master Riflemen, Master Swords and 1 box in medic.

I can solo just about anything. I get intimidation II along with head shots from various professions and the medic box comes in handy and allows me to heal myself in battle in case I need it. Usuaully I dont though.

Take rifle, you are only about 15 points away from counterattack cap at master swordsman anyways. Might as well get the insanely high ranged and melee defense mods from rifleman along with a weapon that compliments the swordsman weapons. Or go pistoleer for the state defenses.

and area KD does definately work, I have owned people in pvp with this, its a cone effect not a true aoe tho.

however right now u are prolly better off goin rifleman for straight pvp kevbo.

Sure, they fix it after I give it up. Isn't that the way it always works though?

personally i had a master sword/pistol setup for a while. tho it was more of a pve thing it was still sorta functional in pvp or duels.
what i really liked for a while was
master swords, master pistoleer, rogue line in smuggler,
0300 tka, and 0100medic
now doing this gets you 2 very good pve masteries, the rogue line in smuggler is a bit weak for pvp but feign death was a life saver quite often when farming npc's n such. also ends up with good def vs stats.

I would go rifleman. You'll get alot of melee defense.

The main reason though is that the pool specific damage from rifleman and swordsman is the same. Why hit random pools with carbineer or pistoleer ( or action and health ) to end up in melee hitting a different pool with your sword?

Also with rifleman you get heavy ap. And its probably the most viable in PVP out of the three right now, pistoleer has stun damage from a geo sonic, but rifleman also gets if from the jawa.

I would and have picked rifleman. Aside from it being very good in PvE... and as a support role in group hunting.. it is also good for PvP. With swordsman to back it up, it makes a very well rounded character that can do just about anything.
