I would be satisfied with my template if it wasn't for that annoying terrain negotiation mod. This is just a quick question. Do any of you not have Novice Scout at all? If not, how do you fare? Is it just a matter of avoiding steep hills like the plague? I suppose I could find some BE'd clothes that give a bonus to T.N. But with absolutely no scouting, are you able to fight effectively?
The skill points for scout and exploration are really killing me.

I dont' think there are any BE'd clothes that offer a bonus to Terrain negotiation...if there are then I might change what I'm heading my template for as well.

i like novice scout and hunting 1 just for the ability to harvest what i hunt. i'm a master doctor/masterswords, so i enjoy searhing for my own organic materials. i would keep the exploration if u are big into pvp, since being meleeit would be difficultto keep up with a ranged prof, or a ranger with any combat prof..

Dump it!! I haven't had it in so long I don't miss it any more. /taunt for PvE MOBs that run away, and get Master Brawler for it's 20m KD for PVP, that and keep a Rifleman friend to kite them when they're out of your range!!

it all depends on your template, like me Im a master swords/master doc so what could I spend the last 18 point's on to help me? 1/0/0/0 scout for that small amount of TN, itsure does help having even just that first box.
btw, I dont think novice scoutgives you any terrain negotiation so that would be useless altogether unless you want to harvest.

If you get an Ubese Shirt with terrain neogiation then there is still the harvesting aspect of scout. It is always nice to harvest those rancors and what not and sell the meat or hide for 6 to 10 cpu. The stuff sells fast and it is of no effort to you.

I have 1000 scout for the terrain neg. It helps so much in dathomir that I decided the first time I dropped it I needed it back!
I've got:
Master Swords (since last august - before the posture-down timer, when areahit3 owned all
)
Master brawler
2440 Fencer
4004 TK
Novice Medic
I have no trouble with Elders, and when CoB'd, all other types miss me or are counterattacked a reasonable amount (a *lot* for the rangers/initiates).

These are the stats on the Travel Biscuits I've made.
6 Uses/ 8 FIlling/ +18 Terrain Negotiation/ 15min
Worked wonders for Jedi per patch, had many buy it off me, and actually destroyed the value of CA/AAs with terrain negotiation after I advertised them. You can stack the food with regular SEAs and Group Terrain Neg SEAs for max terrain negotiation.
I went without terrain negotiation for awhile, but eventually picked it up cuz I kept getting kited uphill by Riflemen/CMs. Harvesting is also a nice addative.

Terrain negotiation is handy, not at all required. You learn to adopt your gamestyle.
You dont need to run after mobs that flees, use taunt instead.
Use your vehicule instead of walking around.
When fighting, have your vehicule close incase you have to flee.
If you really need to walk up hills, do it diagonally instead of straight up. Find or buy a pike with some +terrain negotiation. I found one with +25 myself, so using it as a walking stick at times, not very often though..(you get only +20 terrain neg at scout 1000).
There are SEAs with terrain negotiation. As most people have use for them, they arent often sold though, from what Ive understood..

I heartily agree with you Larant- As a full combat WOOKiee I really have no monetary compensation other than selling my loot and selling my resource harvests. Of course.. I DON'T have the Ubese Shirt option for protecting my tapes so I'm currently scout 3040
I'm expecting that to change and will most likely go down to 1010 if I have to... dropping the TN if I have to drop further.
