A friend of mine let me play an old alt account of his (no expansions) to get a feel for the game. After mastering pikeman and working my way up the carbineer tree I decided I liked it enough to buy a copy of The Total Experience and turn his account back over to him.

I liked themelee aspect but not so much the ranged. Don't get me wrong, carbineers are badass (love the specials) but Iprefer to be in the thick of things.I had started trading carbineer for swordsman before I turned the account back over andfoundit more fun.

Using a profession calculator I've come up with a tentative template for my new Ithorian: Master Swordsman, Pikeman 4/4/4/0, Doc 4/1/0/4 (along with the prerequisites for each, of course) I tend to solo around 50% of the time so the healing is a necessity.

Will this do me good?

the only thing youll have trouble with is soloing lots of things at once. if you ever go to like the NS stronghold, sometimes youll have to have 5-6 people on you, like 2 85, 82, 81, and 78. without imp COB it will be trouble. i say still use basic COB tho. drop 0100 doc and get 0001 pikeman, that doc does nothing.

one on one soling youll do fine, since basic COB with intimidate is great. that should be a good temp

I would keep Mpike, and with a build like the followng:

Master Pikeman,Swordman 0434/Doc4004/Brawler1444/(FS Branch)CombatProwess0014

this will allow you to control you enemies damage potential as you can debuff their damage and attack speed with Intimidate and Warcry

as for soloing more then one mob at a time, jsut remember to keep some good Stim Ds around as a backup to your Doc healing which will be very good anyway

and remember to get some food and spice that augment your health, healthregen, Action, Action regen, Mind and Mind regen, as they will help you survive longer
