Talking with my bh friend in game.. her "new patched" lightning cannon is around 400-700dmg.. 4 secs.. looking at my hammer its 100-500 4.2 secs (after speed sliced) i dont know what to say. Theres a thread on the BH board also with poster showing screens of his dmg.. http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=bounty_hunter&message.id=42091&page=1

I like how he complains that the LLC is still not powerful enough...I mean, hell, that's 2500 damage in pvp. That thing should have a 40 second delay, not 4...

Makes you just want to bite the bullet and roll up a bounty hunter like everyone else in the game, eh?

....hmmm...this reminds me of something not so pleasant happening to me last night.

I was in a 20 people hunting group going for the squill caves and the Tusken bunker near Bestine.

One of the guys in the group, i think it was a BH, had a rocket launcher i think it was.

To make it short: it took away all the fun of grouping....it took ususally 2-3 shots to bring a squill or a tusken down and besides the fact that it wouldn't give us brawlers time to close in , the target would also disappear inside a huge explosion animation for a couple of seconds and you couldn't see anythibng at all.

Lucky enough the guy either stopped using it or left the group later on, so it got easier making some decent XP. Nevertheless i think in 2-3 hours of hunting my XP payout was pretty ridiculous.

LLC also has a 0 AR. yes it still rocks for PVP when light is the highest AR you will encounter, but try to kill some critters on Endor with a medium or heavy AR with that LLC and see how much damage you're doing compared to a Swordsman with a PH.

Why are you comparing the weapon of a profession that takes < 35 skill points to achieve (Swordsman...Novice Brawler(15) + Master 2H(14) + Novice Swordsman(6) = 35 skill points, or somewhere in the neighborhood), to a class which takes about > 150 skill points to reach (Master Marksman(77) + Master Scout(77) + Novice BH(6) = 160)?

Master Bounty Hunter takes 223 skill points, leaving only 27 to play with. Master Swordsman takes 92 total, leaving 158 Skill Points left. Let's not forget that to be a Bounty Hunter you need Master Scout...and I'm sure there are plenty of folks out there who think Scout is cool, but c'mon, it sucks. You make dinky traps that never hit, and a camp to shave 10 seconds off the 30 seconds you would've paused to regen your mind pool. With Swordsman, there's no waste.

Why anyone would complain about BHes or Commandos is beyond me...I'm happy with my 92 skill point profession, which allows me to also be a Master Weaponsmith and a Master Medic.

even thogh i agree, your still mixing apples with oranges because Swordsman have to get up close and personal and take the full bront of the damage, while BHs and Commandos can sit back and watch the destruction while we take it and deal it.............I'm not complaining mind you.........

The whole "BH/Commando should be way more powerful than anyone else because they spend more points" doesn't really work in the long run. It's ok that they do more damage as long as there are other balancing considerations, but if you use the "hardest to achieve" argument too far, everyone will just become them or they won't have any fun. It's not like someone who really wanted to and had the free time couldn't go buy a new account and make a master BH in a week or two since advancement is so trivially easy in this game.

Well, commando weapons have short range on them, so they do have to get somewhat up close and personal.

I agree, just ridiculous. Higher damage and it also has a range of greater than 5 meters.

LLC is ap1, not ap0. And you can put on a scope and add tons of +hit mods. Commando rifles are all ap0 however.

Also you don't need master BH to use a LLC. It's just one tree, so you got plenty of points to get something else, including commando.

If all you want to do is blast-blast-blast, go be a Bounty Hunter.

You've got too much of a "class" view of things....you don't realize thata Swordsman and a Bounty Hunter simply CAN NOT be compared, AT ALL. Why? Because if all you are is a Swordsman, you've got 150 skill points you're not using. Why the **edit** aren't you picking up some Medic, some Creature Handler, some Pistoleer, some Rifleman???? A Bounty Hunter has no choice...he's only going to be a Bounty Hunter. He can pick up some Medic, but he'll never be as good of a Medic as you can be...he can pick up CH, but he'd be a pretty **edit**ty one....he can pick up Pistoleer, but he won't even be that good (well, the way BH and Pistoleer mods stack is cheap and cheesy, and should be nerfed...anyway...). Do you see the point?

You're whining and complaining because you see yourself as only a Swordsman when there are plenty of options for you to pick up other professions that can help balance you out. Think of it this way...the guy that's playing the BH had 150 skill points. You, who are only a Swordsman, only had 90. Of course you're gonna get your ass kicked, you didn't get as many points. If you're a Swordsman and a Medic, though, you've used up about 150 skill points too, and now you may have some sort of chance (arbitrarily speaking).

This game wasn't meant to have players semantically lock themselves into just one profession and be nothing but that profession. The reason there are skill points is so that you can make up a nice potpourri character, and pick up different things from different professions that fit into your play style. If you want to take down that BH in PvP, you have the option of spending your skill points on a multitude of abilities that will help you do so. The limiting factor is your limited intelligence...and I mean that generally, not specifically aimed at anyone.
