Thread: Which is better, headhit2 or spin attack2?

Helloooo swordsmen.

While my main weapon is a rifle, I’ve worked my way up to Novice Swordsman for balance (ie. Not taking 2.5x melee damage) and to finish off the mind pool with 2H headhit.

Well, I’ve been using my curved sword enough that I can train another skill, and was wondering which is the better move, 2H headhit 2, or 2H spin attack 2. I use the first level of both these moves quite a bit, for different reasons, and just want to know which one I should get first. Or is it just a matter of preference?

you will like headhit2 more. Techniques will incrase speed too, if you choose to spend more points in swordsman. Its my favorite path.

Really depends on what you're fighting.

If you are often primary tank against a lot of opponents (pve) the spin attack will likely suit you better.

However in any one on one situation and especially in pvp where mind damage is king, you will want the head hit.

Well, I just took a second look at the Techniques lines (hadn't looked at anything after first level skills) and by the time I finally get around to it, it's probably going to end up being a choice between 2H headhit3(7 more skill points), or 2H spinattack2 (5 more skill points)

is headhit3 worth the time to get to?

For me I use the head hit more than spin attack.

I typically find myself (in pvp) up against more single opponents than multiple opponents. In these situations it's mostly Mind Hits and Head Hit.

Do you have any of the Offense line trained? If so you can always use the Area Attacks to hit multiple people. Even with the posture change nerf it's still a viable attack, and Area Attack 3 still has the dizzy side effect as well which is ALWAYS a good thing to smack people with.

I'm new to swordsman. What is the difference between area attack, and spin? Don't they both just hit multiple mobs at once?

Area Attack comes with a posture change effect to it and Area Attack 3 also has a dizzy with the posture change.

Spin attack just swings and hits multiple opponents.

However spin attack costs a great deal less HAM than area attack so it has it's uses too unless you're looking for the desired side effects of area attack or have high enough secondaries that cost isn't a problem.

Well, you guys all mislead me. Everyone said the Headhit2 was better because it was good one on one against mobs, and in PVP, and all that other nonsense. So I went out and trained Techniques 1, and no one told me about the most important thing...

... the cool animation, seriously, this has got to be the coolest two hit combo, with an elbow thrown in for good measure (it even makes the thunk noise) I was running around hacking things up left and right last night, just to see it over and over again.

Oh yeah, and the damage is great too, almost as good as some of my rifle shots, and with a lightening melee powerup of anything, the HAM cost is only a little higher then with headhit1. Thanks again everyone.

enjoy it, headHit3 animation is very short and looks like 08/15 move. Anyway, techniques is the way to go. Speed incrase is very important and will give your sword better overall damage output. It will incrase your damage more then the better specials do.
