I am nearly a master swordsman (3 4 3 4) and have dabbled in pistoleer ( 0042) among other things, and i find this to be the best close quarter combo for a swordsman. Instead of churning out skill points to reach master brawler for the sword kd, pistol melee defense1 is much more practical, as well as giving your victim the appearance that you are not melee... I have killed many high level players in duels and battles simply by not displaying any character tags and using fan shot until they slow down or stop to fight me, then use a pmd1/switchweaps to a sword/mindhit3 macro i made. nearly always theyincap in 1 hit, and if not my second atack hits them before they get up and finishes the job. (my sword is speed 2.5 120-363)

The advantages of pmd1 is that you are already close to your target if you use it, unlike underhand shot or similar ranged weap kds, and of course damage is greatly amplified when your target is knocked down. Add to this buffs and spice, and I am a definate force on the battlfield. Also, whenever i am on the go i equip the pistol, so players dont think twice about getting into the "dead zone" close quarter range with me, especially commandos and bounty hunters.

yepI have went the same path, master swordsman/ and high level pistoleer, mixed with the dirty fighting, and the pistol is a great compliment, and sure helps that whole kiting issue LOL...

Idon't have fan shot, but that skill box has some great defense against KD and posture change, hows that working out against a TKA? does it help at all?

Ive been asked after a fight with a master tka if i too was a tka, because he used dizzy kd and i auto-recovered and didnt fall down. It usually takes a few shots for me to be ranged KD'd, and i still get blinded in 1 eyeshot somehow despite 2 professions worth of defenses...

fan shot works great for doing a decent amount of dmg ( with a krayt) but i rarely incap someone with pistol...much faster to use a sword.

thanks for the response might have to free up some points to get it for the extra defense mods.... sounds like its working asI expected it might vs KD/dizzy
