Swordsman Archive

Ive tried a few professions since starting the game, only just dabbled in the advanced profs.

As a result Ive ended up with a wide scattering of skills that I really need to narrow down. As I play at pretty random times Im finding it hard to pick up regular groups, so being able to survive solo is a must.

Ive tried 2 Handed and loved it, seemed extremely effective pairing rifle mind bleeds to pull and then head hitting with a Two handed curved sword.

So, decision time. Im going to have to drop a LOT of skills to become more focussed. Which prof to add along with master heavy swordsman?

I currently have:

Master Medic

Master Scout

Unarmed 1-4

Two Handed 1-4

Commando Flame 1

Novice Pistoleer

Novice Rifleman

Novice Medic

CH 1/1/1/1

Any advice out there guys?

Is Rifleman / Heavy swordsman a viable combo? (Along with some CH to tank and novice medic). Im not looking for "how to make an Uber build" advice, but I would hate to spend a month reaching towards the mastery and then realise it sucks completely.

Master Doc/ Swordsman

It really depends though how you like to play, do you want to always change your template to whatever is popular that week? Do you want to be good in PvP, or PvE? It really depends more on what you like. I think Master doc/swords is perfect for me, cuz I like to solo,but I like to be good in a group also, I do more pve then pvp, and when I pvp I usually just rez and heal mostly anyway.

Im also doing this as a wookie as I just got a sneaky feeling this sort of template as a wookie is going to be massive in the near future. Its also very nice as it stands now. Kudos to Annai for helping me come up with this template as shes big into PvP and all forms of melee combat.

Jebu's tempate is exactly the template I play and I like it a lot. I switch between roles depending on the situation -- offense or defense. I can target/bleed health or mind and I have 3 damage types that I deal effective damage with. Overall ranged/melee defense is nice and high although that's not the only trick in my book (I find that these defenses are nearly worthless against a lot of high-end PvE content). It's not a PvP God template, in fact it's probably not perfectly min/max'ed for a lot of things, but it's a lot of fun to play.

But there are lots of viable and fun templates out there. =-)

I also think this is a template for the future with potential to get more powerefull in the future as opposed to being wide open to be hit with the nerf bat.
