Just getting intoSwordsman (novice) and wondering what good sword stats are. I have a
Two Handed Curved Sword
Attack Sp. 2.0
Damage: Kinetic
Min. 38
Max. 224
Wound 36%
Is this a decent sword? How much better do they get?

250 max is a good 2 handed curved sword. I would personally stick with the curved sword or something fast and wait until master before you use the power hammer because the power hammer is slow and inaccurate if you are fighting in PvP or even against higher lvl NPC.

I heard that at Master level, the speed of a Power Hammer is 1/1. If that is true, do I ever need to get a speed slice on my power hammer. Is the PH then just as fast as a curved sword. Is there any reason to ever use anything else at master level?

I would say curved sword to battlemaster (techniques 4) - then switch onto your high damage powerhammer. If you get 30 to 35% damage slice then the bleeds and damage you do with 2hmindhit3 means you will much up most mobs.
