I am creating an “uber” melee character. I am going to master Tera Kasi, Pikeman, and Fencer. I chose those three due to the defense mods that the three combined would receive. Now what I need to know is if I do this will I get the benefit of those stacked mods? For example with these three mastered you get a whopping +161 Vs. Melee, +104 Vs. Ranged, +90 Vs. Knockdown, +70 Vs. Blind, +100 Vs. Posture change (Down), +35 Vs. Stun, + 65 Vs. Dizzy, and +20 Vs. Intimidate.
Now does anyone know if defense mods from different combat professions under the same tree stack or are these capped at +125?

I just asked the same question in another thread. The response I received was that block, counterattack, dodge, melee defense & ranged defense all have a cap of 125. Anything above that will not be utilized. You can reach your 125 cap with the help of clothing, and you can exceed it with the help of food.
The template I'm throwing around that helps me to get as close to the caps as possible is Master Swordsman, Fencer 3330, TKM 4003.
This will give me :
- Melee Defense 136 (11 points over, I know)
- Ranged Defense 114 ( Add to Aa'kuan rings for 124)
Other nice stats :
- CounterAttack +100
- Dodge +90
- Defense vs. Blind +50
- Defense vs. Dizzy +60
- Defense vs. Intimidate +40
- Defense vs. Knockdown +75
- Defense vs. Posture Change +60
- Defense vs. Stun +50
When I checked out Pikeman I wasn't too impressed with the defenses, other than the nice block stats you get.
Let me know what you think.

Counterattack, Dodge and Block only work if you have the weapons of the professions that give 'm equipped.
And of all those Dodge seems to be working the best.

Yeah master brawler is always a plus if you are using a melee class. Btw not to be an ass but this post doesnt have anything to do with swordsman at all
If you are dabblin for defense then you should take up swordsman for the power
