Hello!

I took on a 200k total ham Blurg Raptor last night, and then a NS Witch later, Didnt catch all of her HAM but it seemed close to the Raptor. I am a Master Fencer, Swordsman 0-3-2-4, plus the other sutff you see in my signature. Moving from Master Pistoleer/Master Fencer to Master Sword to be able to solo higher end mobs. I always am buffed, good armor, two vasarians and lots of combat foods (reduced damage, increased toughness, etc...), plus Muon. Plus I use an Acklay Hammer with a base dmg rate of 198-690 with a powered up speed of 4.5

The usual scenario is that I get the blasted beast down to their last 10k on health, and suddenly they kick in with major mind damage on me. As I Feign Death to recover, they bolt beyond my range and reset. GRRRRR! I idid better last night, standing up briefly to keep them around longer. But combat with the higher end creatures lasts so long that my mind gives way eventually from tthe battleand the specials.

Questions: What specials and special combo's do you use against high end beasts? My defense against Stun and Blind (the damage I was suffering the most) is currently iin the mid +50's. When I am done changing up my character,my defenses will be at +116 for Stun and +100 for Blind. Is there a huge difference between a +50 and a +100 in the defense mods? Helmet or no helmet (because of regen)? When I get up to Master Sword, will the damage output be increased enough to help resolve a lot of this?

Thanks a ton as always!

Well, this is what I do (most of the time):

Good comp armor (with high kinetic resists)

2 x Vasarian brandy

2 x Ahrisa (bumps up focus for roughly 40 minutes)

OR

2 x Vagnerian Canape (good regen on mind stats)

Mind Hit 1/2 (bleeds)

Intimidate 1/2 (delays)

Warcry 1/2 (if you need to heal or switch weapons)

Head Hit 1/2/3 (mostly 3, because it does the best amount of damage)

DoT weapons (I usually save these for Elders; mostly mind poison types)

Repeat any as needed and you should be okay.

Your mind shouldnt be draining much with an Acklay hammer, but try Canapes or Ahrisa. Also, make sure you always keep your enemies intimidated as it drastically reduces the damage they do to you (by 50% I believe).

to use swordsman on high level mobs

/intimidate; (most important thing you can do)
/mindhit1; (causes mind bleed)
/mindhit2; (also causes mind bleed and stacks with 1)
/headhitx; (what ever you have)
/headhitx;
/headhitx;
/headhitx;
...
...
...
/rinse+repeat

you get the picture

just focus on 1 ham pool if you are soloing. if the mob has 250k ham, you can either do 25k damage to 1 pool only, or you end up having to deal out about 700k in damage.

Aelric, funny signature! Very creative. Thanks for the feedback, great stuff. Didnt know the bleeds stacked. I do not have Master Brawler, and doubt I will get it. For now anyways. How many intimidates without Master Brawler? Also, any answers to my other questions would be helpful:

"My defense against Stun and Blind (the damage I was suffering the most) is currently iin the mid +50's. When I am done changing up my character,my defenses will be at +116 for Stun and +100 for Blind. Is there a huge difference between a +50 and a +100 in the defense mods? Thanks a ton for taking the time.

I don't have master brawler either. Did master it to try but dropped it. I usually spam intimidate about 20 times. The trick is to watch the mob and count how many stick (these will be intimidated(in green)). I usually try to let minimum 5 stick, the I clear the combat queue and start in on the mind. keep an eye on the intimidate and when it runs out, clear combat queue and start over with the intimidate. I don't find it difficuilt without master brawler, intimidate2 is just bonus if you have it.

OK, I suggest master brawler as you get intim 2 which last overa minute. Secondly ALWAYS wear a helmut!!!! ALWAYS against higher end mobs. they do so much dmaage that one hit on your noggin will mess you up. then again against medium mobs ( between 10k and 100k) I dont wear armor most times....oir against Jedi players any more. Use as higha a head as you can for main attack.

I loop Center of Being, intimidate the mob (and make sure it keeps intimidated), stack the mind bleeds, and spam headhit3

when it starts running away, i taunt it.

medic skills help a lot as well

Another good tip is to use /warcry - it delays the next action of your enemy by 10 seconds as long as it doesn't get hit during that time (which snaps it back into combat mode).

If you're getting in trouble, need to heal yourself, switch armor, whatever.../warcry then /peace, it'll give you some breathing room.

I also tend to stack intimidate about 30 times before I even start the fight...then a few minutes later I'll hit another 20 or so intimidates again. Each intimidate is 10 seconds, and they stack, so use to your advantage. Someone stated above that intimidate delays; it infact reduces melee damage output of mobs by about 50%.
