Thread: The New Rifle is Not Blast Damage
And in fact I think it is safe to say that for the time being, blast damage is considered somewhat sacrosanct to Swordsmen and Commandos and I would be very surprised if we see any other profs getting blast anytime soon.
StGabe.
And what new rifle is this?
Something was released today?
<needs to read patch notes>
They got a nice rifle from the Geo POI, which they dont need. And now they get another rifle from the Corvette, which again, they dont need.
Its as if the devs are just totally oblivious of anything going on in their game. They dont seem to understand that Rifleman really dont need anymore help.

I damn hope so!

It still bothers me that they're getting any new rifles AT ALL.

yup.. that's exactly how i see it. the devs, as shown by what they implement, are out of touch with the game. i can understand that a dev doesn't have the time to play the game as we all do, but don't you think a brief glance at the GCW forum would show that riflemen don't need ANY help at all? and yet they continue to baffle us with their decisions...
From what I've seen though, not many rifleman will bother with this rifle. That in itself is a bit silly as why bother making a weapon that no one will use?
I'm about to write up a post pushing for more weapons like the featherweight FWG5, enhanced E11 carbine, modified republic blaster, etc. These are schematics that add a small bonus to an existing weapon type. So far we haven't seen any of these for melee weapons. They should be relatively easy to implement as no new art is required. These could be weapons made with extra bleed damage, with extra skill mods, maybe with tighter damage ranges for mitigation, slight boosts in speed, maybe even an AP boost. I don't know if that is feasible but it seems like a good thing to pitch right now.

I agree that there have been some disparities as to how many weapons are going out to each prof and I'm trying to use this as ammo to pitch some of our weapon issues (but not a lot of new info is coming out lately).

The only problem with that pitch is that they're going to throw the Gammorean Battleaxe and Twohanded Grooved Sword in our faces. Granted, neither of those weapons are really any good, and I'd rather have a schem to have them crafted with the DoTs they have…but it's an argument that should be prepared for.

Im not going to agree with the bizzleneyatching about riffles or anyone getting somthing new...
THIS GAME NEED MORE CONTENT PERIOD.
Who cares who gets what (although if it was blast that woulda sucked)
IM SICK OF SEING THE SAME 10 or so riffles/carbines/pistols/hammers/flamethrowers/WHATEVER FOR THE LAST (MONTHS OR SO IVE BEEN PLAYING THIS DAMN GAME.... So ANYTHING new is good who cares if the class doesnt need dev loving... ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN NOTHING
this is a step in the right direction for evreyone in the fact that THEY ARE putting new stuff in.... sur it cant be all spread out at once...whatever... just as long as new stuff goes in im down with it.
5 stars, bravo. Seriously, Jake said there would be plenty of new weapons. I'm sure there will be some for us. Just give 'em time. DO we have (one of) the fewest selections of weapons for an elite combat class? Yeah. But I have faith that eventually that'll be fixed—in the mean time, me and my new scythes and my new crate of powerhammers are gonna go cause some havok.

I agree. While I'm not happy rifleman got a 2nd weapon in as many publishes I do realize that trend has to stop sooner or later.I disagree slightly that MHS have the smallest number of weapons available. I have 3 choices that could use on a regular basis. The scythe is barely one of them because of the limited use schematic but I would still take a powerhammer over a pistol anyday.
Honestly I thinkmost of the new loots in the corvette is crap. The one exception is the neutral reward to me with the new vehicle. I'm just happy about another dungeon. I'd much rather have more content than worry about new toys that I can't use. I understand that people are always unhappy about something, that won't go away. I do however believe this game is moving in theright direction now. The devs cancelling the combat revamp until they get more feedback was some of the best news I've heard from them in a while. I don't mind changes, but the experimentation system proved the don't know how major changes will affect this game right now.

where do these two come from? i've never heard of them.
Gammorean Axe is a mind disease DoT weapon rewarded by the 5th NPC in the Jabba parkset, Twohanded Grooved is a health bleed DoT weapon rewarded by the 9th NPC in the Rebel park set, or the 6th NPC in the Imperial park set. Both are finished-weapon rewards, not schematic rewards.
