Hi, I'm new to the profession and noticed a lot of our weapons are not swords (axe, hammer). Are the sword like weapons good ones? Or will I have to take fencer instead to be effective? (pve only)

Well, we do have a couple of weapons that are swords, being the Cleaver and the 2-handed curved swords (which is a viable weapon in pvp...very fast, good damage. Although against someone with melee mitigation and 80% composite, a Powerhammer would be better.)

As far as PvE goes, we are perhaps one of the best classes you could take. I would recommend using a Powerhammer once you approach master, otherwise stick with a 2 handedCurved-sword. You should do very well, and deal great damage!

It really depends. Hammer does Blast Damage, and a lot of it. Cleaver and curved swords are kinetic and generally faster than the hammer. The Scythe is kinetic, fast and good damage. I have not seen the sword you get from the Imperial Theme park, but have been told not to go imp just for that. I only used the axe to get to curved sword, and have not qualified for the scythe yet.

Yes, the scythe is a good weapon as well, but I would not recommend it for PvE grinding unless you don't mind using your pecious limited supply weapon.

The sword from the Imperial themepark is okay. It just has a Health bleed and I think it's damage is like 50 - 220, or something
