Thread: MHS + Carbineer?

Okay all,
I'm torn here....I have MHS, and was thinking of building the "ultimate" Melee template like others have discussed here...But i'm a bit concerned over the fact that i won't be able to shoot anything! With an all melee template, will i continue to get owned in PVP by Pistoleers and BH's that constantly run away while lighting my as* up?? That brings me to the question of...Would a MHS, Master Carbineer plus as many melee skills work well in conjunction with each other? I know rifles have the mind shot's and yada yada, but frankly, I hate rifles at the moment...waaay to boring for me.. So what do you all think?? Would it work?

Carbines are actually a lot of fun in my opinion (I like Pikeman too though so you may not want to take me seriously ^_^) the Ranged KD/Dizzy is great, you'll cap your Counter Attack, and make up for your lack of Ranged Defense with Mitigation 3. However, although this isn't a bad combo (and if you want tohave a Ranged option I encourage it) Kiters are by no means a problem for a 100% Melee template. First off, when people kite you, it's pretty easy to kite them back and get out of their range and wait to make your move. Also, with Center of Beinglooping and stackedKD/Posture defense(not to mention Burst Run) it's not hard to get in the 20m needed to use Lunge 2. Ultimatly though, it's just how you want to play. Yeah, i was told about the Lunge option...Tell me, when i Master Brawler, will i be capped on my two handed speed then?? If i go 100% melee, i really want to be a wrecking ball if you know what i mean! Quick, powerful, and able to take out those gunslingers quickly if need be...You said the counterattack will be capped? Is counterattack in this game a really big advantage though? I havent noticed it much to be honest...Also, I'm about 80%PVE, 20% PVP...if that helps!

You will need some skill tapes to cap a 5.4 PH but I refer you to other threads herefor the exact number you need to cap. My speed is 103 with tapes so I'm not sure what the minimium needed is. Also some accuracy tapes are nice as well. PvE you are unstoppable. However PvP, remember that all the target needs to do is put on some 90% composite and your life will get very difficult.
Counterattack works very well IMO. Especially when you turn on CenterofBeing. That's alot of skill points to spend (carbineer) just to get ranged mitigation 3 and some more counterattack. You may be better off looking in the other melee trees for more ranged and melee defense and stat defenses.

I kill quite a few people in pvp, and brawler is my only basic profession.

True, but since the hammer does Blast damage, doesent that work better VS. Comp. than a Kinetic damage type weapon? As far as Carbineer goes, The reason i got intrested was not so much for the defenses, but for and additional offensive weapon..I do think though that I will do all melee..There are enough specials out there in each melee class that i should be able to put a hurting on most things and have some pretty nice defense as well...
