Ok just an opinion thing realy I guess but some swear that the progression should be 0400 first then whatever but others argue that you should realy do 0020 first? I don't realy have enough experience as a swordsman to add anything beneficial here as my alt is the swordsman and I don't play him all that often. So anyway what do yall sugest?

Well, this is just my humble opinion, but if I had it to do over again. I would have got 010x then 410x or maybe 420x. Use a 2h curved sword, spd sliced of course to get the 020x then use a dmg one. Or if you have enough combat xp fromanother prof get xxx3 and use the scythe use a dmg one of these though or if your rolling in doe get you a spd and dmg one Also, once you get 020x you should be able to use a spd sliced hammer pretty effectively too.

Just started swordsman last night.....

At 0,2,1,3 (had combat XP over from mastering other professions)

I asked what my first box should be - everyone said 0,0,1,0

I took their advice and I have to tell you without a doubt I am going up the tech tree to get my speed up.

So I will be 0,4,1,3 by tonight

I am hunting on endor and getting insane xp

Just stabnd next to the lair and do spin attack 2 and watch the XP meter fly

Even at my low level there are very few things on Endor I can not solo.

I went techniques, offense, defense, with finesse as I could. Worked pretty well. As others have said, just area-spam the lair and the XP flies by (careful not to do too much damage, though—towards the end I was blowing the lair before the last spawn popped…oops.)

personally I'd go 001x for spinattack2, then from there go 041x for better speedthen 044x then 444x..

And just take lotsa missions whilst in full armor and buffed, and just spin attack the lairs..

Should only take you a few days to master it

Just posting that I agree with the "001x and then 041x" crowd here. With a curved sword and spin attack 2 you deal just as much damage as you would with area 3 hits. Don't try your skill at hammers until you have 041x and even then stick with a speed sliced one (3.6s).

Good luck,

Of course leave it to me to disagree with everyone else. The 0/4/0/0 method is only if you are planning to solo your way through. If you want to be effective in a group however, do the defense tree first. Lets face it, you're going to tank from the very first time you do a spin attack, so you will NEED to have your defense high.

Ok, lets talk about the mind hit branch of the tree. Only good for soloing. Chances are, you're going to be the only one attacking the mind while your group bleeds and bodyshots the health pool. In this case, you're wasting your efforts trying to drop the critter before they do. That's not working with the group, that's competing with them. With my tree at 0/0/4/4, I do extreme damage very quickly. oh, and I *don't miss* very often at all. My spin attack is wonderful, I don't run out of ham, hell I don't even use it, it seems.

Ok again, I have been away for 4 months. Does the defensive tree actually do something now? As a master for crowd control I use area3 offensive.. That seems to work well. When would I want to use the Defense tree? It used to really stink..

This is the way I went and it only took me a week of very casual playing to master. Once you solo a Rancor lair, there is no going back
