They used to be pretty useful before the Scythe arrived. Although I prefer the 2hAxe over other kinetic weapons (bar the Scythe ofcourse).

I guess they don't have much use anymore other than a grinding weapon.

so its good to get when i have 2 handed 4 until i qualify for the scythe?

I only use mine to take down lairs, it is the easiest to replace I think, I have a good curved sword(i think it is like 90-300 with 2.3ish speed) that I use to kill most things that are kin weak, but it I don't want to wear it, my scythes, or hammer out on lairs, so the cleaver works well, may take a bit longer then with any of the other weapons, but it is a waste of condition.

The Cleaver is probably my favorite melee weapon other than the Ryyk, unfurtunately it is very difficult to get good results with the Cleaver as it is with amny other weapons- the best Cleaver I have is a Geonosian made one with 3.4 speed (sliced to 2.5) 131-262 dmg 42.2% wound but a +6 ideal range. I also have a Rancor core Cleaver with 5.1 speed 60-227 (sliced to 80-283) 45.9% wound, the Cleavers really aren't worth making 2 uber cores out of but I just adore the Cleaver for its size and not many people carry it (far too many carry the Scythe or Powerhammer).

Definately. While it has about the same max damage as a two-handed curved, it has a higher min. Mine does 101-223 at 2.2 speed (speed slice). Very respectable.

And even when you do qualify for the scythe, you might not want to wear it out beating down lairs or whatever. The cleaver is perfect for that - does good damage at good speed and cheap and easy to replace.
