Thread: CU PVP vs PVE

you will be able to pvp with ease. i do it all the time as an all melee template and i kick some ass in the process.
that is good to know, i was a little worried there for a bit! not being able to log on to TC and try myself, i was wondering, how long it takes to adapt to the new system? i imagine the FAQs and pvp guides will have to be changed..
a.) I hear conflicting reports about these things. Some say they're game-breaking, others say they're easy to get by if you fight tactically and hide behind stuff.
b.) Personally I would not be surprised to see roots get nerfed back a bit sometime in the weeks after the CU hits live.
c.) Lunge is still a longer-ranged knockdown. Using it is *very* helpful when fighting ranged people.

However root is not at all a problem. all it needs i think is a longer down time for the skill or maybe a slightly less duration on the skill which ever i think will work out.
Root by itself is not the problem it is when you combined root with Snare and disarm shoot that you start to get in trouble.

Atm it seems CM's have a skill that is 100x worse then ROOT. Paralize.

the only way to hold our own with doc skills, when paralyzed, would be to heal over and over and over, while getting hit..over and over. sucks
getting attacked in any way by the person who paralized you does not break it, it seems its bugged atm...nothing can be done to break paralize, just like root. I think if they fixed it so you could move/attack once you lost any health at all, we'd have a chance against ranged...maybe.
but without root/paralyze, i more than held my own on TC-3 (master swords/pike/brawler and some other stuff)

ya but the skill i mentioned is game breaking. paralize makes it so you can't attack or move for 10s and it is supposed to break when you get attacked. However A. there is no timer on this skill so you can keep hitting the skill and paralize the person and it seems to hit every time without fail. B. the Skill does not break except on getting hit, Dots being applyed and tick does not seem to affect it only weapon damage seems to affect it. There is no way to fight this skill. C. the longest i was not paralized in this duel was for 2s. was able to do one skill and was paralized again. it was a useless cause to fight this fight. However root is not at all a problem. all it needs i think is a longer down time for the skill or maybe a slightly less duration on the skill which ever i think will work out.

Somehow I totally missed your post about Paralize. Yeah, that's pretty nasty... but still, that's a glaring imbalance in the game. I think its too much for even these devs to overlook for long. Until then I hope our friends who are combat medics decide to fight with a bit more skill, rather than spamming an attack which I bet is bugged.
