Fellow Swordsman..

As we all know, the combat pass is close at hand (or we hope it is ) and we have heard that many weapons will be re-adjusted to better suit our profession and make us more balanced.

Recently we have been told that the scythe sword schematic is a quest item in the next patch, which im sure we are all happy about.

My question is simple: Is it a good idea to have the sword made before or after the patch?

If the schmatic can only be used twice, and the quest only given once, what would happen if the swords stats were changed in the balance but the swords made before the patch remained the same?

The only option then would be to ask someone else to run that mission to get you the schematic

Another question is that would the schematic be changed to suit the new properties it gained in the balance? So if we did do the quest, and kept the schematic, it would still produce the pre-patch item.

I know that many swordsmen would be very keen to get this special item made very quickly, but personally I would be very misled if I did the quest, and then the weapon changed.

Note: This all asumes that weapon stats (andtherefore possably the scythe)will be changed in the combat balance

well gore helped get the stats changed WHILE it was on test center (and some other feedback)

so hopefully they have some idea what the new combat structure will look like and had that in mind when they REDID the stats thatare coming wed.

but that might just be wishful thinking.........

im going to be paying guild members to run the quest for me at any rate

True, but I was thinking in case they were changed again. I mean in the 'inconcept thread' most people believe that we should be the damage dealers. In that case, then maybe our weapon stats will be increased or the range reduced etc, or other overall changes (like accuracy) to the profession that might change the overall outcome of producing the scythe blade.

Yeah.. probably would be the only way around it. Just seems a little silly to release something now, and then change it later..

I'm not going to worry bout that myself. I really doubt they will stick us with a lesser version of the sword. MAYBE we would have to redo the quest but I doubt that too. Tuesday is Scythe Day!!!!!!!!!

THIS is my problem right now. I'm afraid to do ANYTHING to my guy at this point cause, i'm afriad they'll change the game around again. I'm kind of obsive in nature. (I take medican for it...) I need to plan stuff out... or it drives me nutz. But as it stands this game is in Limbo... The combat revamp is set to hit, and who knows what'll happen when it does... defence is all up in the air... the Jedi unlocking system is flux, PvP will be revamped after Combat...

My god. The whole game will be COMPLETE different by the time it's 1 year old. (heck, it's almost complete different now.) I'll admit I'm not a long time MMO'er, but in my 2 year stent in AC, things changed... but the core systems of the game stayed the same... They never changed so much you couldn't plain out at least how you wanted to build your guy... but i'm stuck in a rut now cause i didn't know if i should hold on to my extra defence i have from Fencer and TKM... while i master Heavy Swords, OR if Defence will be caped or unstackable and should just drop it... I'm not sure weather to contune my holo grind, or just quite and wait...(wouldn't be much to do if i did that... as i've masted alot of stuff already, am fairly complete combat wize, and didn't most of the quests currently in game...)

I guess the feel since we can unlearn and reatrian all our skills it give them free rain to change anything they want when they want... cause if it gimps us... oh well, we can start over...

KingSnake. (oh hi by the way... i'm new to the swords form. I've been reading about heavy swords and I'm about ready to comit my enerigies to mastering the proff. Not becasue on of my holo's told me to, but because it looks fun, and i want touse a sword... a REAL sword... not a tusken stick. )

Too late my friend. TH has already annouced that Stat Stacking will be dropped in the next publish (I think).

Yeah, it is a little tough to plan at the moment, many people feel that they are paying for beta 4/5+ since the game is under going such huge changed that should have been done before release.

But on a lighter note, welcome to the Swordsman Forum

You know I wish I had a good answer for you here and I just don't. I really feel in the dark as to the possible scope of changes. I would bet that it won't change too much (and who knows it might even be made worse and not better), but that would be at best a guess.
