3) Stun baton elders are easy to kill. When you'll have the right gear you'll understand that elders with powerhammer, scythe, VL or even LVA are harder to kill than stun baton elders.

4) Bleed an elder ONLY AFTER an auto bleed is there. If /meleeheadhit3 didn't put a bleed yet, don't bleed the elder. You'll thank me later, when you use /warcry.

5) +95 2h melee speed is a good speed for a swordsman BUT ITS NOT THE SPEED CAP. Loot an 8.2 spd, 450/1311 ph and you'll understand.

I suggest for anyone who want to write a new guide to read the stickies before doing it.

You actually both have some really good points here and if you combined what your saying I think this would be a really good guide that should be stickied for the greater good of the HS board to help stop the 2,967,384,359 template/speed questions we get everyday here . As someone who has been swords for a long time and tried bothtemplates I hope I can help clarify a little here.

I would agree that going to Master Ddoc is a waste of points unless you want to craft your own meds/buff as a source of income as well as be able to solo. But since we're talking about soloing here, your much better going with MHS/Doc 0440, or 4040 depending if you PvP more or PvE. This gives you enough left over points to be able to pick up at least 1-1.5 full branches of TK, or Fencer asuming your taking FS Speed, and some FS Accuracy or Defense. Which you get again will depend on your specific needs, and should be suited to your playing style depending on what you do most as was stated in the original post.

A pure offensive template will usually take down a high end mob faster than doc, but you will not be "dizzy/kd/bleeding on the grass". For a doc heals are very quick, no need to warcry most of the time when you can heal 100% in one shot, and remove states/bleeds with a 1 second second delay. It's much slower for Medic 2000. Your really not going to be that far behind in damage when it comes down to it. With doc I can remove dizzy and bleedsin abouta quarter of the time a def stacker canand never spend time on my back. In the end with the same hammer a Def Stacker will usually win but not by much.

True for the most part. It is possible without it butmed 2000 makes it much easier. Healing those bleeds especially when you get 3-4 stacked on the same stat can be life saving. Most out there I think would agree that if your doing the highest end stuff you will want this.

This is true also. You CAN solo elders with stun bats with the right armor/PSG. However I've found that it's hardly worth the bother considering you can just run out 500m or so and then back to the spawn and a different elder will have spawned there most of the time. Just check her name, if it's not the same as the one with thebat thenyour good to go. Also getting your armor on in time when she's wacking away at you for big damage can be a pretty close race. However with good stun armor and a PSG you can solo them just as easily as any armor. What you want to do again depends on your personal preference. I've done both, and really it depends on the situation I'm in.

True. An autobleed will tick for more than a mindhit bleed. Acutally with high end mobs like elders your better off just using extra HeadHits, bleeds do next to nothing now.

For the purposes of all but maybe .01% of all swordsmen out ther +95 is the speed cap. Almost no one has a hammer like the one you describe. If you wanna get technical then with the slowest hammer ever(even with a speed of 10) then your still gonna cap at +97 speed so it's really not worth arguing.

I appreciate your opinion but it is not misleading, those are the 2 best templates for soloing. What other options besides those 2 are there? I say none. As for novice med having first aid as a must- again not true- I solo elders with novice med, bleeds are bad but if you pay attention and warcry and heal when needed you can stay alive. As for the speed cap 95 is the cap, no if ands or buts about that one. If you have an 8.2 hammer and you try to use attachments to go beyond the 95 it is an absolute waste, they will not work. So if you cap thats it you cap.

The cap depends on the speed of a weapon. With a 1.8 speed scythe for example you are capped with it at MHS with no other skills, but for a 6.2 or faster Hammer you cap at +95. However if you have a slower weapon then you can add more speed all the way up to +100, but your never going to find a weapon that slow. Only the occasional looted weapon will need more than +95 but they are out there and it will work ifwant toadd more speed mod up to +100 is effective.

So thank you for your suggestions, as input is desired, but I suggest you read the stickies before replying again.
