What is a good speed PH to use as Novice? I have 2 right now. One is 5.4 speed 19?-621, and the other is 4.0 speed 124-432 (I think that is the damage). Thanks for your help. I have been a pikewoman for way too long and I am new to the Swordwoman game. I am 0003 right now by the way.

I have been looking for one on Kettemoor with no luck. I have everything to make one too except the schematic. All the good weaponsmiths that I knew are no where to be found now also.

You'll probably want to use the speed sliced hammer until you get your speed mods up there.

At your current level, you have a speed mod of 35 unless you have Master Brawler, in which case you have a speed mod of 40. Since the speed mod represents a % reduction in the delay. Just for some perspecitive, right now, your speed mod reduces the delay about as much as a speed powerup (33%) will do. With a 5.4 your auto attack (i.e., no special) will take 3.5 seconds per hit. With the 4.0 speed one, it will take 2.6 seconds per hit.

Here are the facts:

Average DPS

-----------------------------------

Min Max Avg SpdSpd w/PMNormal H2 HH1
PH 1:190 621 754 5.4 3.5 215 322 344
PH 2:124 432 517 4.0 2.6 199 298 318

where:

Min = Unadjusted Minimum damage

Max = Unadjusted Maximum damage

Avg = Average Damage with standard damage multiplier

Spd = Unadjusted weapon speed

Spd w/PM = Speed adjusted for personal speed modifier (35 at 0 0 0 3)

Normal = The average DPS for a normal attack using the numbers from Avg and Spd w/PM

H2 = The average DPS for Hit2 using its multipliers and Avg and Spd w/PM

HH1 = The average DPS for HeadHit1 using its multipliers and Avg and Spd w/PM

Ok. What all this means is for the higher damage PH, you are averaging 754 per hit after adjusting for the standard damage multiplier, but because of the speed of the weapon, you average about 215 per second for a normal attack (i.e., no speicals). The 4.0 hammer will average 517 and do 199 per second with a normal attack.So, as is, the 5.4 hammer will out peform the 4.0 hammer using either Hit2 or Headhit1 (both available to you right now) by about 24and 26 points, respectively, just as it outperforms it on a normal attack.

This means that the higher damage PH is the better choice either way right now. It appears obvious that the4.0 hammer got about a 32% speed slice (5.4/1.32 = 4.0). However, while it is obvious the 5.4 hammer got a damage slice, without knowing the starting numbers of either hammer, I cannot tell how large or if you are using powerups.

If you are not using Powerups, then you would be better off using a speed powerup on the hammers. This will raise your average DPS by more than what you can do with a Max Damage Powerup or even a Min damage + Max Damage Powerup. The only way the 4.0 PH would be better right now is if you are using a powerup on the 5.4 hammer and not using one on the 4.0 one.

So, use the 5.4 speed hammer right and put a Speed power up on it if it does not have it. If you are already using a Powerup on the 5.4 and not using one on the 4.0, put a speed power up on the 4.0 and use it. The DPS will be higher.
