I havent played in 3 months, I started playing again yesterday and people were saying how you can stack melee defense anymore, is this true?? I am a master swords/tkm and yesterday I went to the Tusken Fort for sh/its and giggles and then I see a mob of raiders, I round em all up until they surround me and then hit my 2handed area attack 3 and it takes about 3 swings to take em all out, when theyre all doin I look at my ham bar and I see the I was damaged!! actually damaged!! by Tusken Raiders, not serious damage but considerable for them since they are low lvl NPC's. Now I had full comp at full condition, 2500 buffs, and before my break away from the game I could stand in a group warlords and basically feel like I was just getting tickled!! Is it true your really cant stack any defenses anymore??

It has nothing to do with defense stacking not working, defenses still stack. They just fixed the code that was causing all NPCs to just used unarmed auto-attacks. NPCs now will pull out a weapon and use specials on you which cause more damage.

I've been hit for 1600 by an Observer. Scatter hit 2. That F'in hurt.

I feel your pain man. Earlier this year in March I was TKM/Master Commando and I could stand in the middle of 15 tuskens and they'd miss me 75% of the time, whether or not I was unarmed or using my FT. I didn't even need buffs, just 80% kinetic compo and brandy. I took a couple months off and when I got back my defenses were never quite the same. Before I could stand there all day w/my flamethrower and rarely take damage, but it seemed like the melee defense from Commando didn't stack w/the melee defense from TK. When I held my flamethrower I got hit 10x more, and when I switched to unarmed it was better, but not as good as before. I'm still a little confused about how the defenses stack, but oh well...

listen defense still stacks. (even tho ive heard rumors about how the cap doesnt effect certain ppl)
melee/ranged defense is capped at 125, as is counterattack/dodge/block.
the thing is npc's have specials now and they use weapons, they dont just use unarmed all the time or just do regular swings with a sword, they USE their weapons. as in they use the specials appropriate to tthe profession and stuff.
so now fighting npc's is a lot more fun/interesting but a little tougher. there u have it.

i think he meantdoes the def from tka apply when using a a ph or a swordsman weap and vice versa(or somethinglike that)........not sure
but yah def does still stack

I was being hit by a force trained NPC with a stun batton for 2500 damage. Thank heavens I got her mind before she got my health.
