I've been a Swordwoman/Doctor for quite awhile, and have always switched my extra 18 skillpoints in between Artisan and Scout depending on the circumstances. I do want to pursue the FS quests and was a little worried that I would be limiting my character by using those skillpoints and not being able to harvest anything for the next 5 months.. or however long it takes to unlock.
I did take a look at the FS skills and see there are 2 branches that do exactly what scout/artisan do. My question is if I take those branches do they work without having the actual artisan and scout professions. I guess I'm thinking it will be like someone that buys a BE medical shirt to improve their healing, but it won't work unless they have novice medic.
I hope my question was somewhat clear. Has anyone heard anything about it? Thanks for the help guys!

I don't actually know. I believe that we tested at least some of the scouting skill mods (harvest and surival) on TC2 and found that they didn't allow someone to harvest or place tents. But back then I also suspected that the FS mods weren't working at all yet.
So sorry, no idea. It's too late for me (my 6 brances are done
), but I'm also curious about this one.

I'm in exactly the same boat as you lioness...I want to cap out my melee speed more with the FS skills, but I need to switch between scout/harvesting. I"m betting that you have to have novice in those areas for the FS to benefit you at all...just my 2 cents.

I am intending on going up the survival FS line and don't have Novice Scout so I should be able to answer this question eventually. It will take me a little while to work up that tree though because I still have to finish off my melee speed tree.

Sidhe,
Sorry to say there is no way to keep Master sword and Master doc OR much doc really. I was lucky enough to get5 unlocks, but had to drop master doc to make room for the 24 fs points needed. Also to go up the survival FS line you will need to convert the scout xp . I tried to harvest without it and could not without novice scout(15 more points
. In the survival line You don't get plus 5 to harvest till your 4th box. Also dont forget you have to use more scout points do to the capping in scout itself 1000 xp is a lot of trips to the converter. So long Story short ill be on the back of a buff line !!!!

Finally on the right path

Maybe Luck for the rest of the points.

I'm stuck here too - I got 2 unlocks last night and had to give up scout to train my melee combat boxes. Eventually I'll have to free up more skill points, and now I can't harvest anything to build meds
Does anyone know we will get more skill points with the JTL expansion or will the pilot skills be a separate skill system?
