Imn thinking of going swordsman, but I would like to know what you guys think first...

How good is swordsman in PvE and hows the xp? For instance, I play a pistoleer right now, and a giant naz nitz give about 4k xp... Will that change with swordsman?

What weapon should I use to progress swordsman?

Thanks!

Swordsman are one of the top professions for dishing out damage and the xp comes in pretty fast. They're defense is relatively weak so most people also pick up either doctor skills or brawler/fencer/tk skills as a compliment. Doctor is nice if you like to solo and not have to stand in line, the other melee professions are pretty effecient if you can get buffs and things reliably from someone else.

Once you get to novice swordsman, go power hammer all the way Get a speed sliced one to start with until you can climb the technique tree and increase your speed. Scythes are very nice as well but you will be 3/4s of the way through your swordsman tree before you can use one.

I did quenkers and hurtons on Dant - other medium level creature missions work well too though. I found that in the Mining Outpost, its popular enough that you can get buffs and training easily, not to mention there were plenty of shops around for restocking. Our galaxy also has a improved job market player city right near the outpost so I took advantage of that to add a few credits to the bottom line.

If your idea of PvE is killing nightsister's like it seems everyone is right now, then swordsman is the best.

Grind up the Tech tree for speed. Then once yopu get battlemaster, grind up the area attack tree. The xp just flies in. And also Mokk/Janta/Kunga missions are good too.

how much xp are you getting pr kill approx for a mid lvl critter (8k ham?) and how much dmg are you dealing? Pistoleer is doing about 1000 dmg pr second and getting about 3-4k xp, I hope swordsman will do better :=)

I agree. Speed even with a speed 3.5 speed-sliced power hammer is crippling. You're much better off with a speed 1.6 2-hand curved sword, at least until you get Techniques 4. By Tech 4 (+60 2-hand speed) you're still better on paper with a curved sword, but after levelling that long, it just feels good to swing a hammer

/agree, lol

from novice I went:

0-0-1-x for the spin attack, then

0-4-1-x for the speed.

From hereuse your powerhammer to bash those critters around with for the rest of the grind.

*sigh* I wanna get off work and go play... lol
