Thread: New swordsman saying hi
Currently my character is a Master TKA, Master CH and I will start dropping my CH skills once I get novice swordsman. I have to take advantage of my light armor 66% kinetic, 11k ham graul while I can
Well with the graul I got brawler 2 handed swords 1-4 in 40 minutes and got half way up novice swordsman the whithin the next 40 minutes. I can not wait to get novice swordsman as I can learn the combat xp branch 1-3 when I get novice.
I have read that the bleeds are good to get and will do that branch first and leave the defensive branch for last since I have plenty of mods from my master tka which I am keeping.
Is there a certain slice I should hope for in my weapons. Right now I am using a curved sword and would like to try a power hammer when I get novice.
This prof I feel will be good for me as I can then decide which of the 2 melee profs I like better. I have a feeling that I will be a walking tank when I have both masters.
I have been hunting on endor killing archane webmasters, blurrgs and screechers. Are the creatures on Dathomir good ways to get xp in terms of xp gain-downtime?
Stay safe out there hunting and now I will have to decide which prof I will keep in the end
Welcome my young Swordsman Friend...
Good choice and I'm sure you will enjoy it. If you haven't already...Recommend Mastering Brawler...The Specials will make you unstopable!
I hunt on Dathomir and when you 1st start out...getting buffed is a good idea before you go - you can kill Giant Baz nitchs & Gaping Spidersforabout 3k xp per kill "No Problem" Once you get up the swordsman tree you can go after Rancor's and Kamurith's for over 5k xp per kill
Hope this helps...Take care

Same here, New to Swordsmen!
Looking forward to it! I also plan on picking up Smuggler. Do you all suggest another Profession?
Um... the bleeds branch is combat xp unless my mind is way off today...
So you can do that at the same time as another branch..
I recommend Techniques first to get to mind hit 3... because that is the only attack you need besides the bleeds.
IMHO
Bleeds and accuracy are under Finesse, which is all Combat XP.
Go Techniques for speed and its more powerfulheadhits, and get Finesse as your Combat XP accumulates; although, it sounds like you have quite a bit of that accumlated already. Many would recommend Defense next, but since you are already TKM, you may be better off, as was suggested, going Offense next.
Bleeds and Headhits will be your primary attacks, but /melee2hhit3 and /melee2harea3 are also useful. Both have a chance to dizzy the opponent as well as doing substantial random pool damage. And Area3 is, oddly enough, and Area attack. Imagine that.
Pickets on Dantooine are also good for XP.
