As of1 hour ago i hit master swordmans, 4 weeks of playing some might think 4 weeks is alot to master a proffesion and i agree but i was a pure noob before starting, Swordmans was always the proffesion i wanted even when i startedreading the manual. Now i feel its my turn to pass on every thing i have learnt to help others, also the fact that i am getting alot of tells asking for adivice (blaming xmas holos).

First Tree Path, this question gets asked alot, the best tree is Sword Techniques this will give you the speed to use the powerhammer (PH) later, along with the super powerfall mind hits Next tree line will be the Sword Defensefollowed by the Sword Offense. Offense should be the last line that you do because you have less to gain from it than anyother tree. Sword Finesse will come over time with the bleeds.

Secondly is Weapons, I have seen too many swordman using Powerhammer as soon as they get novice swordman. In my view this is a the worst thing to do and will slow down training. You are too slow and will miss to much with the PH to use it well. From novice swordman to 0/4/0/2 you should be using two-haned curved sword.Get a damage slice when you get higher up the Techniques tree. once you pass the marker 0/4/0/2 you will have the speed and the extra accuracy to make the PH useable. (watch out in late jan, feb we are looking to get a new sword check sticky threads for details ) Once you hit master you might want to get a damage slice on you PH but i think it depends on the person, do not think there is a right or wrong at this lvl. before master speed slice i think will help alot.

Third Armor, this is an important topic, i have read that ubase is the best armor but because of the limited market for this i have yet to find some, should be ok if your guild has a armorsmith. Do not use COMP armor it will drain you like a cheap hooker, you will kill your self quicker with it that without it. I personally went for some bio clothing which addes to melee defence +8. When buying armor make sure that it has a high kernetic resitance, you are a melee figther, people or animals fighting with you will be melee as well most have kernetic damage. (Powerhammer is blast damage).

Next Huntting, best place i have found for hunting is danoinoona. Go here and join a group hunting vortors or pikets (piket meat is good for docs ) make sure you are buffed (a master doc can do this normally 6k) since there are still not that many melee chars around you might be the only one in a group and do not want to go down too quickly. Try not to solo to much i found it hard, lonely and boring if you do solo try qucakers we can kill them fast and normally carry good credits.

Last Other proffesions personly i am training doc, i think this will help loads with group hunting and the fact i can buff, cure and heal myself at any time i think will be great. Some ppl have gone hybrid melee, if this sounds good to you then fencer has the best defence lines, while TKA has knockdowns and mediaite which are amazing. Also try and master bawler as this will give you some very nice specails . (just a warning i have read somewhere that devs are thinking of changing it so that you can not get hybrid defences, meaning that even if you do train the other defence lines they might not all work at the same time i did read this on forums someone please post if true or false)

Personal View, swordman ROCKS but i am still un-sure on our specails, lots of posts on forums about how a few of them are more or less the same which is true but my point is that the posture changing ones (example area of attack) rarly work. but nothing beats the feeling of being a super tank while you watch everyone run away from the attackers.

Well i think thats it, just got in from pub and my spelling is bad anyway but i hope this helps a few of you. most of this information if from the forums and just gained from playing the game

Buy 80% kinetic resist composite(200k on corbantis), get fully buffed (doc and musician) and head rancor hunting. Use your Area Attacks against Rancor Youth lairs (4.5-5k a youth) they can't hurt you fast enough through 80% resist composite and full buffs.

Once you feel ballsy move on to gnarled rancors, (around 2/2/2/2)

at 3/3/3/3 move to normal rancors, but have a doc in the group (or be one like I was) cause you need to use a cure intimidate state pack every 20-30 seconds (intimidate cuts your damage in half). Slap each one with mind bleeds (at this point your bleeds should hit 2500+ for level 2, and 2000+ for level 1.) Turn back to the first one and mind hit them, or area attack them till they drop.

Most I got was 1.4 million experience in 6 hours, at one point I had 20+ rancors attacking me at once. (20 * 5000experience = 100,000 experience) muhahaha,

Avoid the mutants and enraged ones unless you have a master fencer as a tank, or a commando or BH w/pistoleer skills DOT'ing them, they area knockdown/dizzy.

Mastered swordsman in 3 days, and had my composite drop to 24,000 pts durability.

I started swordsman at 0,0,0,3 due to the fact I had my combat xp maxed before I even started the prof. I use the power hammer to place a good 3k+ bleed on the enemy and then switch to a trusty curved sword. I also have master TKA so i can take a few hits

can someone recommend an area on Dathomir for the aformentioned rancor hunting. my travels on dathomir have been limited to the old money missions that used to be there and a tiny bit of holo camping. but all with ranged characters.

where should i go to find rancor lairs? or high concetrations of rancors of the levels described above? which city should i start at?

i was actually in a group once going to a rancor cave... but at the time i didn't have a vehicle and got left behind. ...anyone have corrds for that?

any help would be greatly appreciated. i bought a decent set of 80+ comp. and now i feel like i'm wasting time killing hurtons and pickets. ready to kill something a bit tougher.

thanks

I'm a 1-0-2-1 right now, an it's taking a long time, save for when I do bolle bol hunts on Naboo, but I still find the grind annoying. Then again, I only play about 1 day a week, so I guess it doesn't apply to me as much.
