Hey Gore, we have all been anxiously awaiting some information about the combat revamp and what the devs have in store for swordsman and brawlers for that matter. I'm kind of getting frustrated not knowing where anything is going. All this talk about exciting new changes comming but no information about what is actually going to happen. Can you please enlighten us a little, has there been any contact with the devs or Thunderheart. When can we expext to see the scyth or the 2hand weapon they said they were gonna give schematics for. Its really frustrating since there really has been no flow of information for 3 weeks now. What can we look forward to seeing or are they that far behind that nothing is even planned yet?

(not taking out anything on you Gore but TH said he has been communicating strictly with the correspondents so i was hoping you might have some info you could pass along to us)

If Gore knew anything he would tell us.

You probably already know that Gore is taking a break atm. He posted a topic about it, but didnt make it a sticky. I'll go bump it.

At present we are waiting for the changes to hit TC. We aren't really getting very much information beyond the public posts that TH has made. I have seen indications that some of the following systems may be tweaked:

-- HAM usage
-- Speed formula
-- Bleeding and resists/armor
-- Weapons (greatly)
-- stacking for passive defenses

It also seems likely that these will come out in "stages". The first stage was damgage mitigation and the new creature stats. The next stage might well be weapons changes and HAM usage, or any combination of the things we've heard about.

Check out TH's "Art of Combat" thread and all of his replies to it and you'll see basically most all of the info that is available on this subject. The correspondents haven't really gotten any more (well at least not all of us, individual correspondents might know more than I, but if so they probably can't tell you about it yet.

So, unfortunately, we just have to wait for now.

Thanks St.Gab for responding in Gore's absense, well hopefully we get more feedback soon. I'm kinda reluctant to get my hopes up about the changes because i dont really want to set myself up for a big letdown, but thanks for the info on what game systems might be changing we all know they are long overdue.

Sounds like bleeds are most likely gonna get nerfed....doh, that was one of the coolest parts of this profession.

If they nerf bleed they need to at least make the hits do damage to the mind, as it is right now i can hit something with a mind bleed and it will do no damage to the mob till the bleed starts ticking. It should work like commando FT, the hit should do damage to the mind and also bleed it.

Hiya,

thanks FtB and Gabe for helping out /bow

Some of the upcoming changes won't happen instantly and a timeframe of 2-3 publishes for the overall package would seem realistic to me...but that only as a reminder.

Concerning the new weapon, or at least its schematics: i reminded TH last week about it and told him that our expectations are rather high now, also after his posts in that thread and expect meto continuedoing so. If i don't get any news beforehand we will have to wait for now for the patch notes, which shouldnt take too much longer to be published and see from there.

Concerning communication: i'm really looking forward to what the new boards will bring, because if they work as intended they should improve an aspectwhich didn't work out that well so far in the program: the direct Dev to players information part to make communication really 2ways.

Probably not a 100% the type of answer you wanted to see, but all i can do from my side for now.

Hang on in there..

Have a successful day
