Thread: Are fencer weapons good in a swordsman's hands?

I have heard that some fencer weapons are better than any other melee proff's weapons. So my question is would a fencer weapon be useable by a swordsman?(1 that doesnt need fencer skill prereqs). And if not what skills are needed at least?

you can use any weapon if you have the character level and the weapon isnt restricted to a skill box (master fencer for example.)
there are a few very good fencer weapons, but off hand im thinking they require fencer skills.
unregardless, we need our own uber weapon, dontcha think?

Blade of Nyenthi'oris, Xris acid sword and Junti Mace all have better stats than any of our 2h weapons.
All you need to do is pick up the x4xx part of fencer (speed line) and you will have better speed with master swordsman thana master fencer would have.
PH's are coming along but they require very rare loot drops to come close to their 1h neighbors stats.

Yes the Blade of Nyenthi'oris is sweet. Mine is full dmg sliced, 1st tier spd, and 1st tier critical. I'm not on my home comp right now, but if memory serves the stats are something like 1123 max dmg(unpupped) almost 1300 with 30% dmg pup, base spd 2.4, SAC 90. Speed really isn't much of an issue, with 4004 Doc i get the speed buff
