Thread: Scythe Update, good news
It was changed to have slightly better ranged modifiers, better HAM costs, and slower delay. Also, a really cool addition, the metals that it uses were changed to metals that have a much better SR (phrik aluminum and carbonite steel).
I tried for a couple of days to obtain some of the best possible power cubes to make a really good scythe, and I finally had to give up. After killing likely more than a thousand Geonosians I didn't see a single one of the enhanced power cubes (I do know they drop there though, someone in a group yesterday looted some). These are going to be a real pain to obtain. For those who wanted something to camp, you've got it.
At best these enhanced cubes look like they will add 15min/15max damage or reduce the HAM costs by around 5 each.
Having given up on my hunt for these guys, I did still use some geonosian solidifying agents items that addes +16 max damage and some regular cores (it's not that hard to get the regular ones, so if you don't need the slight edge on your scythe it shouldn't be that bad just getting one made). These are an enhancement that goes on top of anything else. The power cubes also have stats that go into the final product, but these are required. The solidifying agent is akin to using vibro motor enhancements to make good VK's.
The results are very nice I think. The speed dropped a bit, but along with the ranged modifier and HAM changes there is a significant increase in damage due to the new metals.
I suspect that about 15min/max damage could be added to this or the HAM costs could be reduced by around 5/6/5 with a better power cube. A few more points of damage might be squeezed in using better materials although the materials I have are fairly close to perfect. I did see some moderate successes on the sword core manufacture and a weaponsmith with 12 experimentation points will be able to boost the ranged modifiers a bit more.

Wow, i want this bad. Giving a nice dmg slice and min dmg powerup, this will be the pvp weapon of choice. And it looks cool
don't put a min damage power up on it. you will have more damage on it if you put a max damag epowerup on it after migration. i know i did the math on it.
that's more what i expected.
action cost looks scary for a wookiee - of course everything is in this game - but it should be fun.
the old one wasn't any better than a cleaver - this is a far superior weapon for PVP.
thanks for the work gabe
haha i know but if you factor in the damage you still will have a higher max damage if you use a maxdamage power up then a min damage power up. but if your looking for a closer range i would dofor min power up
hehe just for fun let me calculate this scythe if it had a 35% slice and a max power up then a min power up and then factor in the migration
okay it starts out at 181-327 after a 35% it's 244-441. okay wow that min damage is better then the max damage of most our melee weapons after a migration of 3. then normally come out to be like 220 ish. okay
now with a min damage power up on the sliced scythe of 16% to min 283-441. a migration of 3 on it and it will be... 283-346 after migration takes afect
now with a max damage power up of 16%. 244-511 after the power up. after a migration of 3 it is244-351
hmmm it is higher but by not many points soo.. yeah min damage power up then so closer range. 5 points in damage isn't that much.
if i get a good weapon and a good slice i don't use powerups
eats the condition up too fast.
i'd rather have the weapon last longer.
i'd suggested finding some +2 hand melee damage tapers
i have a +13 and a +9 - so thats a 22 percent damage increase.

i've always heard - from TKs and from their damage input that dmg mods in a particular profession are precent increases just like speed and accuracy.
nope it's added damage for tka that is why they are not affected by migration that much. that is why they are still hittnig us for 400 damage instead of like 200 damage as is sopossed to be around in pvp
