I'm not sure if this is a bug or if its just my ignorance of the game but i need this question answered.

I was a master swordsman that maxed out my two handed xp to i believe 900,000 xp. I decieded to drop mhs to master another profession. I later dropped that profession and attempted to retrain some of 2h sword, but only was able to train up to the second block in the brawler tree, why did my xp disappear.

A little more info would be that i had to drop all of brawler to master the other profession. Does this affect stored xp or not?

It is not a bug. What happened is very simple, you were over the limit for your experience cap so the server deleted your excess xp. It would make more sense, and be more easily understood, if you lost the xp as soon as your cap changed, ie. you drop a skill, and it figures your new cap and removes any excess. It doesn't work that way though, the server doesn't check your xp cap when you drop skills, only when you gain new skills or experience, hence once you gained 2h one in brawler it calculated your new max 2h xp to be (10,000) twice the xp needed for 2h two (5,000). At that point it realized that you had WAAAY too much xp (900,000- the 1,000 for 2h one=899,000)and "corrected" the situation (changed 2h xp to 10,000). The upside is that if you had actually USED a 2h weapon to gain xp before you trained 2h one you would have instantly been brought to your new cap (2,000), which means you wouldn't have even had enough to get 2h2 (2,000 - 1,000 for 2h one = 1,000).

Hope that clears it up for ya =)

This only happens if you get trained by an NPC. Let a player train you and there is no XP "adjustment."

It will adjust whenever your current xp for that type changes.

The basic rule for the cap is that you can only have enough XP to train the next two higher boxes. So at 2H 1 in Brawler, your 2H XP will be capped out to where you can get to 2H 3.
