Yes, yet another one... Meant for heavy PvE tanking and even a bit of PvP.


Sword is only viable attack option PvP for the most part, but I'll mostly be doing PvE on this char.




Master Swords

4440 Fencer

0040 Pistoleer

0020 Carbineer

0100 Medic


Master Swords - Obviously, my means of attack

4440Fencer - Brings Melee Def to 89, Ranged Def to 88 - instead of the crapMS gets.

0040 Pistoleer - Why not? The *nasty* defense vs. state changes, and ranged mit 2

0020 Carbineer - Cap off my Counterattack. (150 actually, but 125 is cap) Going the 2nd box after cap because I have the points, and for 25 intim def/15 kd def)

0100 Medic - So I can heal myself.



Capping Counterattack - It's amazing. Centered, a master fencer hits me MAYBE 1/4 of the time - I know this because I tested it myself versus another character of mine who's a TKM/Master Fencer. TK hits a bit more, about 50-60%... but look at TK's accuracy.



And, the final defenses for this template:



Defense vs Blind +90

Defense vs Dizzy +100
Defense vs Intimidate +65

Defense vs Knockdown +140
Defense vs Posture Change +80

Defense vs Stun +90

I never said anything about the speed being capped.


Money isn't hard to get... so the skilltapes are accessible. However, skillpoints - you can't get more of those.

my template is .... similar.


i have 75 defense vs intimidate which is the most u can have without skill tapes (im a zabrak). it keeps my capped counter attack on center of being.


drop the pistols part and pick up master brawler (not sure if u got the points or not), or a tka line. id get meditation which is crucial in pvp if ur not a doc. kill the guy who dots u, meditate off the dots, he comes back thinking hes got an easy db, bam kill him again lol.


or i guess u can put some more in medic, but aint really worth it.

U need a +20 CAfor two-handed-spd with this template to be capped...

Actually it was never found to be true or false that all the def vs mods capped at 125. MD, RD, counterattack, block and dodge were the only ones TH said capped at 125, but not in so many words (at least to my knowledge). It has not been proved that the cap effects the def vs mods though. Personally I'd like to believe they are capped but then again they shouldn't be.........because even if you can't blind someone, they still take the damage of the special even though the special don't stick.....when MD, RD, Dodge...etc had no cap, you simply could not hit a defense stacker.....so not having a cap on def vs mods doesn't create an imbalance in the game at all in my oppinion.


Also, in pve, mobs don't do lots of status attacks as often as players do.....yeah they do them but even with low defenses to them, they don't stick on you often. The only one that I think is a real problem is the intimidate....everything seems to try and intimidate you in the pve world......unforntunatley we cant have 100 on def verse intimidate.


Anyway, I like the templete and have actually had a templete similar but without the carbineer......the only thing I don't like is not having master brawler and having my intimidate 2 and lunge 2 (swordsman suck for KD attacks so that lunge 2 is great). Generally in PVE your defense vs mods don't need to be that high (like in the 100's).....anything in the 70's will do great.
