alright the description (in game) of counterattack is "shrug off damage and come back with an undefendable attack"

so my questions are....

1 am i taking, dodging, or taking some of the damage

2 the counterATTACK, does this mean my next special is undefendable? or is it i make a small attack that's not worth jack that is undefendable?

3 whats the deal with status effects? IE, today i had my first pvp kill, i brought down a commando, for his last move (i dropped him really quickly) he used flame 2, but i counterattacked and didnt get a burn , plus it says it hit me for 1k and i think i had maybe 200-ish removed from me, and my armour only has 20% resist to fire (no ranged mitigation)

OK I'm not 100% sure on this but pretty sure... Counterattack is basicly just dodge. It says counterattack with an undefendable attack but thats bull. You take no damage when you counterattack. And if you counterattacked that commando he didnt hit you at all you must have gotton the 200 damage from his default attack. And in the combat spatial when it says blah hits you for 1000 points of damage that is before the 70% PVP damage reduction and mitigation if you have it, then it takes into account your armor if you are hit in an armord section.
