Thread: Master Sword/Master Rifle PvE Template help...

I'm Currently Master Rifle/Master Doc, but was looking to find a better template for High End Mob's.


Was thinking of going Master Rifle / Master Sword, Fencer 4/0/4/0, Medic 1/0/0/0


This a good or bad Idea... I have been MasterDoc since the beginning & just yesterday got Master Rifle, but the NS Spell Weavers, Protectors & Stalkers I can't touch due to 100% resist to all my rifles...

I'm currently in the middle of dropping doc myself...

I'm thinking of keeping master swords, and picking up Master Rifle, TK 0004, Medic 0040


With 0040 medic you can use stimpack D's which are much better than b's you be using at novice..

And with Tk 0004 you use all your built up combat exp to almost instantly get after you get novice TK.

OrI could drop to 1000 medic as well and pickup 4004 TK instead and be able to heal my mind wounds.

Hello,


I'm kinda in the same boat as you. I"m a Master Rifleman/MTKA and novice medic.

I decided to go Master Rifleman/Master Swordsman/TKA 1-3-0-4 (Get more defense bonuses and still keep some meditation)/ Novice Medic.

The 1st person that asked dont do swordsman/rifleman do rifleman/pikeman 200+ block its a good temp and get i think 0040 on fencer well the part that has dodge and 4040 in pistoleer if u can.

Well i'm Master Swords / Master Rifleman / 4,0,0,4 TKA / Novice Medic and I like it alot, defenses like block, dodge, counterattack and the like CAP at +125 so anything above that does nothing....I'm capped at 2 handed speed and 2 handed accuracy, not to mention capped at Rifle Speed...only have an extra +18 Rifle Accuracy..and have a few CounterAttack attachments that Cap me at +125 counterattack....its pretty easy to cap Counterattack, block, and dodge..since at Master you get like +115 so you only need like +10 more to CAP...stuff like Dodge only works if you have a pistol or a one-handed weapon in your hand so I don't see how that would do you any good for Swordsman.....The Rifleman/Swordsman also caps your Ranged and Melee Defense..also gives you both Ranged and Melee migration III....I like it, I like it alot..

That's a very interesting build, but there are a couple of reason why I wouldn't go for it. Firstly, at just Master Swords, you've got a meager 75 2h speed. If you're a virtual bill gates, this is no problem for you. +20 in SEAs over 3 pieces of clothing? No problem! However, expect the 2 7s and the 6 required to cap you to cost anywhere from 15m - 35m depending on your server's economy (or 3 marbles and a tic tac on Test Center). The +5 at master brawler is a HUGE help for people, as this bring the sea requirements to 3 +5s... lootable off of Aakuans (they drop up to +6 with frequency). That dramatically lowers the price, right there. Apparently, you were able to get it without a problem, though.


On top of that, Master Brawler gives you the excellent lunge 2 and intimidate 2. Stacking intimidates is wonderful, and a ranged kd is similarly awesome. Those are really just fringe benefits of the extra speed, though.


Novice medic just doesn't cut it. Currently, there's a bug that allows anyone to heal almost instantly, but when (if) that's fixed, things will be back how they were before. At novice, it will take in the area of 7 seconds for you to be able to heal again, and that's just with stim Bs! If you're planning on taking on any of the highest of high end content (DWB, corvette) and want to be able to sustain yourself, you're going to want the capabilities to use Ds at least. A D every 7 seconds is adequate in most cases, but more speed is of course preferred.


This build also has amazing benefits, though. Rifles + Swords allows you to effectively kill any kind of Nightsister, solo (or at least work fantastically well in a group for) krayts, and then to top it off you can meditate away all your worries when you're done. It could definitely work out, and well at that, but it does limit your soloing capabilities somewhat to not be able to lob stronger heals at yourself. However, that capped ranged defense and nearly capped melee defense would do wonders for you, so who knows.


By the way, how many points do you have leftover? looks like about 3 by my calculations. Should take another medic skill

I actually think I have my extra points in the Ranged part of Marksman.....can't remember right at this moment....hehe and I was no bill gates..have spent upwards of 10million on all my attachments..but looted alot of them, i've been a Master Heavy Swordsman for a long time..back when i'd go a few weeks till i'd see another swordsman..now their all over and demand is really high for 2-handed speed attachments..I was lucky to get all mine back when hardly anyone was a swordsman.....I've actually have thought about dropping Novice Medic for the main fact that I hardly ever need to heal myself when I'm buffed.....of course its nice with Elders....some times I need to throw a couple of heals on myself....but probly could do them without the heal.....before this template, my favorite was Master Doctor/Master Swords....but so far i've been able to solo most everything i've wanted to....buffed and with 80% Kinetic Composite of course....i've done Krayts, Elders, Nyax, Kilo's.....this template works great for me....I do miss some of the Master Brawler things such as the Knockdown and the Intimidate 2.....but for the points I feel it wasn't worth it..at least for me...though it is very nice having it...

Personally, if you're just looking to PvE, then I'd drop rifleman and pick up master brawler, and add some defenses from the other melee profs.......Or add another master melee prof like TKM or fencer. Rifleman is great in PvE, but is not needed since swordsman is better in PvE. You could also just keep doc, and go swordsman/doc which is very strong in PvE. If you wanted master brawler, you could do swordsman/master brawler/doc 0340 or 3040 depending of what you wanted to get out of doc.



Just some thoughts and othe options to think about.

I'm personaly going Master Swordsman, Master Rifleman, and Teras Kasi Artist (4-3-0-4)

this almost caps melee and ranged deffence and gives good status change protection (stun, knockdown, ect.) plus lets you meditate off wounds and such.

Block, Dodge and Counterattack caps at +125....u can pop extra +25 by SEA and Food...Max. is 175 total....So +200 on Block is just a waste of skillpoints....btw. block reduce the taken damage only to 50%....Dodge will leave u with no damage and Counterattackresults in an "unblockable counterattack"...don´t knowfor what amount of damage...


Imo a good Combo for Rifle/Sword will be: Master Rifle/Sword/TKA 4-0-0-0/Scout 1-0-0-0 and Novice Med...
