Thread: POSTURE DOWN ATTACKS DO WORK AGAINST NON-HUMANOIDS
Sorry for the all-caps title, but I have seen several posts on here, and the main board saying that Posture down attacks don't work against non-humanoids. That's simply WRONG. Posture down attacks DO work against creatures. They simply don't ANIMATE it. When you select anything in SW:G, you get a Status window for that item/PC/MoB. In that window, you can see what the object's posture is. Pay attention to that next time you execute a sweep or a lunge on a creature. I have been lowering the posture of ALL CREATURES ever since I got 2h Melee Sweep. They don't animate to their knees, or to a prone position, but they also don't attack you.
Go try this before you argue with me. Find the Target Status window, and you will see the posture of the creature you have selected. Try hitting it with sweep attacks. You will see the posture change. (Note, be sure to try a few times, special attacks seem to hit a lot less often now.)
Also, please try to help me keep the REAL issue with PvP combat at the top of the Main message board...

The Knockdown attack is the primary problem with PvP combat. It needs to be changed. There's no reason that ANY player should be knocked out of comission for 10-15 seconds worth of combat. (Not to mention the fact that the effect is STACKABLE.) That's a REAL issue that needs to be dealt with.
Haven't seen the posts you're referring to, but you're absolutely right. Even the initial sweep attack works fine against creatures. Most don't have a kneeling animation, so they just stand there, but their icon shows them kneeling and they can't attack until they get back up.
This is why the AE + posture down attacks are so awesome. You'll have 4 or 5 mites on you, but 3 or 4 of them likely won't be hitting you because you're spamming an AE posture down attack.
