Swordsman Archive

This is all real nice fellas but where do you get such swords? I am a one-handed intermediate fencer and about the toughest sword i have seen is the ryykk. The one i use is max 189 at 3.0speed. A fellow swordsman could really use a new weaponsmith. Nobody seems to enjoy making them.

Ethertap, I'm also on Bloodfin. PLEASE let me know what happens with the PowerHammer, and if it is as strong as you think. I have a really crappy PH that I only use to get missions with. Either reply to this board, or send me a msg in-game.

And afkSawMountain, you are on the wrong forum. The "Swordsman" profession is actually in the "2-handed weapons" category. You should be posting on the "Fencer" forum. I agree that it's very confusing to have the Fencers be "novice swordsman" when swordsman is our profession title. <shrugs> But there are much bigger bugs to fix before that.

I didnt buy one, since ive stopeed meleeing until they make it useful in PvP, but the weapon was on naboo, N of Keren coords are like 1500, 5300 (Ballpark) Its 94-420 with a 6.0 speed, and to my knowledge has not been sliced, they were selling for 16k, so they arent cheap.

As to the comment about the vibro handlers, the PH doesnt use any components to my knowledge.

in bloodfin, reldan is making a 416 / 6.0 and haldir 420/6.0

soon all the weaponsmith will to, worry not about that.. as for the DPS, it is much better than before (almost twice as good) and it is around 80% of the best curved on the market (maybe a bit lower .. .like 75 or 77)

It is still a situational weapon, but you guys have to remember a couple of things....

1. There is a speed cap of1 sec... my 1.6 speed curved has been crappy lately and i've been using my 2.6 336 damage sword instead... although i do notice it is a bit slower (not that much slower though). I'm not master.. but at master i'm pretty sure the hammer speed won't be 3 times what the sword speed is.. probly 50% slower is all.

2. Bleed. Imagine the 1k bleed u get with your sword?... well the hammer has a max damage 90% higher than your sword... imagine the bleed u get with that =)... Nowadays in PvP, we lost our chance of one-shotting.. bleed is our best weapon.. (mind bleed.. unhealable)... and lunge that is..

well, thats my 2 thoughts on power hammer.. anyone has any more ideas on how it could be useful?

btw i read somewhere that the cleaver should kick the curved S... but i haven't seen any of that happening.. (heard this is also because of the power core stuff.. or something)

Not surprising. There was some vibro mechanism that hasn't been working, which is why all the vibro weapons including power hammer have had crap stats.

Apparently that componet has been fixed, so you should be seeing better vibro weapon (including power hammers).

i have been using a 95-425 4.5 PH and i have no complaints what so ever.

I think the PH is great now. Creatures tend to have resists to Blast that are much lower than Kinetic. I wouldn't use the PH in all situations, necessarily, but against stuff with low blast and high kinetic it's definitely the way to go.
