Well DPS stands for Damage Per Second, so you need to figure out how much damage you dish out per second. I dont remember, but cant you get time stamps in the spatial? And can you log the damage to a file? If so that'd help determine what DPS we do.

In swg there is no DPS-damage per second...theres DPC-damage per cycle. Now, the way this formula works is------ Min+Max dmg devided by 2 devided by the Delay

You also have to take into account the armor piercing (AP) value of your weapon. An AP3 weapon will have a higher actual DPS than an AP0 weapon.

Not quite true, from what I understand it depends on the Armor Rating (AR) of what you're fighting against. So, for example, an AP3 weapon and an AP0 weapon will perform the same against an AR0 opponent.
This is a quote from the designer.
"Armor Rating expresses the minimum Armor Piercing value of a weapon needed for the weapon to do its full damage. If the armor's Armor Rating is equal to the weapon's Armor Piercing, there is no effect. If the Armor Rating is higher, however, there is a 50% reduction for each level difference....But in the case of the Power Hammer (fig. 3), its Armor Piercing is higher than the Armor Rating. It therefore does 25% more damage."
If you take an AP0 weapon against an AR0 foe, the DPS formula that has been used in this thread so far is correct. If you take an AP3 weapon against the same foe, you will do 25% more damage with every hit. At that point, the formula is no longer correct - you are doing 25% more damage, and doing more damage means you have higher DPS.
All I was trying to point out earlier was that if you straight use that formula, you are not getting an accurate representation of the damage potential of a weapon like the curved sword or a power hammer which are AP2. I think this affects us because those are our 2 top end weapons.
What I should have said is " You also have to take into account the armor piercing (AP) value of your weapon. An AP3 weapon will have a higher actual DPS than an AP0 weapon against all foes with a lower AR (which is 99% of them out there). But I didn't because I figured everyone would realize that there aren't many AR3 foes out there.
I hope this clears things up. If it doesn't please go to http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/content.jsp?page=Advanced%20Guide%20Armor%20Fundamentals" target=_blank and read what the deveolpers of this game told us about how damage works.
