is it officially stated that THere is a 1 sec cap on attack speed?

also

if we get 65 pouints of attack speed modifiers total or soemthing like that, how much of a bonus does each point of attack speed make? How fast is one point? so when you have 65 points how fast is that?

if 1% is 1 point. That meens 65%. now, does that meen our weapons speed is lowered by 65% or made 65% faster? Trust me, these are two different values..

I think (since weapon powerups for speed do %) are % based, making our swords 65% faster (which is REALLY **edit** good for the powerhammer) Lowering the speed to about... (if its 4) to somewhere about 2.5

For the faster weapons that just means it will hit 1 or even faster, assuming there isnt a cap on speed (have a sliced pistol with a powerup to show it at .7, but used up the powerup in about 5 figts (powerups only last for 100 shots) due to the sheer speed)

did some testing with this last night.. not using hard numbers or anything but just my perception. my weapons are 58-241 @ 1.9 seconds and 71-322 @ 2.6 seconds two handed curved.

pre-patch the 1.9 delay weapon was incredible and nothing could touch it.. post patch I finished up the techniques tree and got the two +15 2h speed. the weapon swings slower now having finished that tree being post patch then it did having nothing in the tree pre patch.

post patch the 2.6 weapon does a lot better then the 1.9.. on the attack rate it's barely noticeable.. maybe 10 attacks of the 1.9 to 7 attacks of the 2.6.

I don't know if the weapon speed pre and post patch are part of the patch or an after effect of my gaining techniques and increasing the 2.6 speed down.. I imagine that the cap is a bit higher then 1 delay or the +30 attack speed is greater then I had imagined and brings the 2.6 down to where the 1.9 is? anyhow just some thoughts.. will have to do some more testing.

It would be nice to know exactly how the speed bonus's work. That way we could calculate the exact value of weapons like the PH.

...what do you mean ? the attack speed value or the overall combat value of the weapon ?

..as someone stated in another post today: i guess one would besides the usual HAM / delay calculations also have to take the targets armor into consideration....

This is a farely imporant issue on many parts. One, many weaponsmiths are intersted in knowing the exact formula. I know a few who think it be better to make lower speed/damage weapons with much lower ham than vice versa.

If our speed mods as we go up the techinqes tree, makes us cap out our 2.6 speed swords to 1 sec, or even cap out our powerhammers, then how do we go about finding this all out?

I may switch to power hammer after this is all over, but maybe not.. need to know definately what the formula is, that way people who are new to the profession know what sword to use, and people who are up the tree a ways, know which weapon to switch to for maxiumum efficiency
