Thread: A Swordsman doing you all a great disservice...

Sorry to intrude on your forum...
But I thought I would bring this all to your attention...There is a person named tometaophion going around to various forums screaming NERF and at the same time saying everyone should be NERF'd because of problems with the Swordsman profession. It's giving all Swordsman's a bad name...
Personally I totally respect swordsman's and if you feel your profession has issues, that I fully support you and hope you get all the fixes you ask for...I have many ingame friends that are swordsman's and have heard their complaints...all very valid...I would never come into your forum and flame you all thinking I knew your profession better then any of you...that's the crime this person commits over and over again in other forums....
But what this person does is claim that other professions should be NERF'd because of the issues Swordsman's have when compared...If only he spent half that energy in seeing your profession fixed I'm sure it would be something...I know you can't do anything to stop him, but I thought some of you might want to acknowlege you don't support this kind of behavior, especially when he makes it appear he's representing you all...
Personally I don't blame any of you for this person's actions...rather I'm sure most of you hate NERF Herders as much as everyone else...I just thought I'd bring it to your attention that it makes it appear he is speaking on behalf of your profession and is giving you all a bad image...

The worst part is that he goes into professions with misaccurate information regarding that profession to justify his NERF calls and finishes off most of his posts with "because swordsmans have it so bad" kind of thing...
Anyway...again, sorry for the intrusion...and I really to do hope you all get the Dev attention your profession needs and desires...Good luck...

One moron screaming nerf gives the profession he's a part of a bad name? Sorry bud, but it doesn't work like that. If it did, every profession in this game would have a horrible "name".

Sorry, thought I should clarify. I wasn't attacking you with that "bud" comment and how I replied... that's just how I talk. Just thought I'd clear that up.

I totally know where your comming from. People think that just because they saw a [insert profession] in action, they think they know everything about that profession. Then they start complaining andembellish the truth because they don't know the real facts about the profession.
If only people like that could be banned from the boards forever....

I'm sorry...I didn't mean it in that way...it's not that he's a Swordsman calling for a "NERF" that gives your profession a bad name..it's that he justifies his NERF calls BECAUSE of the state of the Swordsman profession...He's basically saying over and over that because of how much Swordsman's are hurting, various other professions should be NERF'd down to that level...And he makes it look like all Swordsman's agree...
Which would most Swordsman's rather see...All other professions NERF'd so they have issues like yours, or would you rather see your issues fixed? This person makes it appear that Swordsman's would rather see everyone NERF'd...
Again, I didn't mean to offend any of you...just thought I bring it up since I've seen much negativity in other various forums building up against this person and the Swordsman profession...I think it's a lousy way to be represented and I'd be pissed as a Commando if one of my fellow commandos cried NERF against any other profession and made it look like all Commandos supported him...

I won't ever understand why "nerfing" is the best way to balance this game. Any game.
Is it so hard to make every profession have their defining strong and weak points?
At least there is a variety in profession choices in this game. I certainly never see rifleman/fencers or combat medics.

I agree with you man, I remember when a BH posted the SAME exact post in each of the combat profession, just with a different title. For Example he posted one proffesion's boards "Bounty Hunters may have a point here" then would change it to "Wow those poor bounty Hunters" I personally found this to be quite annoying and began to loath BH whiners.

IMHO there will never trully be a "balance"
there is always gonna be a great player...and that great player is gonna woop some ass on some other guy who doesnt really understand how to play to his/her full potential, and because this great player is a certain class...someone will call nerf on his or her class...
ive seen it too often...ive played ALOT of different MMORPG's...

I guess getting us balanced with TKA is wrong and is doing a great disservice......NOT! There are many Swordsmen that agree that TKM is overpowered compared to all melee classes.

But it doesn't stop there unfortunately...This person also cries NERF for Commandos, Combat Medics, Carbineers, Fencers and others...He even claimed at one time that Rifleman needed to be NERF'd but has since joined their ranks to combine with his Swordsman abilities (he's now saying they don't need to be NERF'd...interesting how he changes his tune)...And the worst part is that he uses stats that are way off to defend his arguements...and he does this, or so he claims, all because swordsman are beat 100% of the time by the listed professions...read his posts...go back aways...you can see all the places he's been and how irrational he get's with his stats...
And do ALL Swordsman's want to see TKM and the other Professions mentioned NERF'd in the name of balance? Or is he mis-representing the over-all opinion? If he see's so many professions out of balance when compared to Swordsman, then wouldn't it make more sense to bring Swordsman up instead of taking everyone else down?
I only came here to let folks know...I didn't mean to cause any anger or bad feelings...I'll try and make this my last reply...if you want to make an opinion on his actions, just read his various posts and ask yourself, is he defending you, or is just causing more grief that could come back to haunt your profession in the long run...Good luck with all your fixes...I hope you get them soon...
