We'll have a good opportunity to see this in action once it hits Test Center and to comment on it then.

I'm not sure this will be such an issue though, hopefully you can warcry and then immediately peace out before you break the "mez" on your target.

I appreciate you looking into it when you can. But my concern is that the peace will not help on your current target if I am interpreting the wording correctly, because if it does not affect the target you are "currenly attacking," they will not be mezzed to begin with. This is probably not what they meant, but who knows what it will eventually mean.

Whatever the case, I suspect this will hit us all as an additional nerf to bleeds as, if the bleed timer hits during the delay in this case, it will likelybe considered an attack and a break to the "mez."

Let us know what you can when you can, and thanks again.

In PvP I don't have a problem with this warcry nerf. In fact, it will probably be for the best. Warcry was getting a little lame. In PvE however Warcry was very very helpful in tanking high level mobs, and without I'm sure it will be impossible to solo many things that were once soloable. Also use of the skill for crowd control is minimal. In a situation right now if I were to use warcry on a group I would also use area attacks on them.. so if the changes stick with warcry then it will only be good to use while you're running away from an enemy.

As you may know, the next publish is going to change Warcry. Here is the wording from the actual publish notes:

"Warcry has been changed from being a single target lock down preventing it from attacking to a method of “crowd control”. Enemies can be temporarily prevented from attacking as long as they are not currently being attacked themselves."

Now, I keep hearing people say that this means that they will be delayed until they take damage or until they are attacked. Forgive me if I am being too picky on wording (as is my nature), but I see this saying far more than that. I specifically refer to the wording where it says, "Enemies can be temporarily prevented from attacking as long as they are not currently being attacked themselves."

It is the "as long as" and the "currently" that concern me. Here is why:

You approach a group of BAF mobs. You target one and use Hit3. They all aggro on you. You warcry. Whathappens next?

Obviously, the target's friends should be delayed. However, if the rule is that they will be delayed as long as they are not currently being attacked, what happens with your target? When you did the warcry, it was currently being attacked. Does that mean the delay will not work for the target? In a lot of cases, that may not mean too much as you would be following the warcry with another hit anyway. But if you have decided that you are taking too much damage and you want to use Warcry to create a safe distance so you could heal, regroup, or just get the heck out of the area, this would have dire consequences because your current target would not be delayed.

Gabe, can you comment on this or get the Devs to do so, please?

Well, I really don't see the point in nerfing warcry at all. During PvP, sure someone can get delayed for 10 or 20 sec, but hell, run away! It's not like the melee professions aren't having problems of their own..ranged players can still kite every melee profession in the game , so if you get delayed(ranged players) run away, then kite.. not too hard I wouldn't think. For PvE, what in the hell is up with the devs not wanting anyone to solo high level mobs?! I mean, with all honesty, without all the melee professions in the game, and their skills: warcry1/warcry2, intimidate, etc.. this game wouldn'tbeanyfun. Just imagine only a group of ranged players hunting nightsisters.. lmao! They would all fall like flies. At least I think they would.. Unless they all hadCH, and I don't think the devs want everyone to be a CH again.. But throw some good melee tanks in there, using warcry1 or warcry2,and you have yourself a ball game. Sure the melee professions can still survive with a warcry nerf, but they will just die that much easier.. which will really sucks for players that only have melee skills. Sure, warcry wouldn't be bad to had as an escape route when stuff gets difficult, but changing it to were you can only delay a creature and not attack while it's delayed will just force him to use warcry and flee earlier in a fight.. Maybe it's not going to be that big of a deal, who knows really.. but I just hope it isn't something they really scew up with. They already stopped defense stacking(with a cap at least) and the Damage over time effects, that just makes melee even worse..
