Thread: Do I stand a chance at the Geonosian cave?

I took up swordsman with my armorsmith toon because I fell in love with the look of the scythe. I'm 0/3/1/2 swordsman now, and was wondering if I'd stand a shot at the Geonosian caves. I figure I could get the xp for expert finesse while I was gathering components to make a couple of scythes. My MBH cleans up there in stun layered comp, but that's on another server so I can't use him to get loot.

get u a hammer and u will own that cave, i was 3213 the day it opened and went through it like it was nothin just get buffed

If you can handle one part of the cave and have controlled spawns, the cave should be no problem to you if you are buffed. If you get trained by people deeper in the cave you will probably run into some problems, got trained the other day, which included half a dozen spiders two enhanced kwi's and numerous crazed genosians and droideka, i was one dead monkey

Its the Permo Spawn/Swarm of Crazed Geonosians that like to spam their best attack, and hit you for 3300 stun damage in the first room that is my problem. They are the ones with the loot, but they just eat me alive if I am not careful.

Yeah, I actually did fairly well against the Geonosians, it was the 3 enhanced Kwis right after that put a whooping on me. What are they hitting with anyway? Damn those puppies are TOUGH! Anyone figure out a way to beat them?
I actually have put in a special order for stun armor with an armorsmith on my server, just for this damn cave.....

You must be joking about the Kwis....or had no armor. THe first time i went to the cave, i just walked right through the first room, and it a pair of Kwi's I tanked them both while two other peoples shot at them. I was unbuffed, 70% kinetic, and only had to heal once. THen i was dumb enough to go upstairs.....You cannot
use this ability while dead.

Don't go, don't even consider it. Because of the huge demand for content it is packed. I was gettin 1 FPS on my p4 3ghz system with my 256mb Raideon 9800xt.
Also when things where running smoothly I never could loot anything because someone else always got in more damage then me.
I wasted 2 hours getting their getting buffed and hunting there and only walked away withxp that I didn't need.

Like I said, I've been there, and if my MBH can get more than enough loot to have a few scythes crafted with his gimped attacks then I'm pretty sure my heavy swordsman can deal out the damage if he can survive. I'm just looking for a sword core drop, as I don't PvP with the swordsman and don't need the most uber weapons.

I'm a wookie 2/4/4/4 Swordsman and got all the way to the end and didn't die once. I was buffed, of course.
Got a sonic pistol and sword cores and power cubes and stuff.

You have a very good chance at dieing if you don't have stun protection.
Is it doable solo? I would say yes.
However it is definatly challenging. You need to be well prepared, and no what your doing. You can't do the normal, run it, hack away, loot, move on to the next group. You get no downtime in there, the just keep spawning.

Buffed yes, Powerhammer yes.
Also pick your fights and locaitons, do not stop and take on each mob as you go in, run to the first door stop and take on what argo you, continue to do this.
