First off I am only a MHS, Brawler and Scout. This is my perspectives and the problems i see with the profession overall.

PVE
I can solo almost anything with buffs and armor. I only seem to have trouble against ancient rancors and force sensitive NPCs with high kinetic resistance.

I am much slower then a TKM and Fencer but theoretically I can do more damage to multiple creatures at once. Most of the time however I only focus on 1 creature at a time as my non-area specials are much stronger.

PVP
I will die without support. I get knocked down and miss more then I can hit (miss a lot during PVE also)

Weapons
I can use a power hammer but the costs on the hammers I have found are really high.

Good 2 handed vendors are very hard to find and our so called "uber" power hammers are not worth the HAM cost. I have seen some amazing PH out there maybe 2 over the past 6 months. Problem is no one says where they got them and they are selling for over 100 million!! I just use my curved sword for its speed which makes a HUGE difference but then again if I wanted faster attacks with less damage I should have been a Fencer or TKM. I do have a scythe schematic but every time I go to the geo caves its lag hell atm. So hopefully the Scythe, once built, will help with the weapons issue.

Area Attacks no Knockdowns
I am ok with not having a knockdown if only our areas where better. With a PH I can take down a pike with 1 mind2 and 3 headhit3s. It takes about 10 area attacks to do the same. True I could take on 8 pikes at once but the damage taken would be very high and risky. Some might argue that area is great because it can change the stance of your opponent however on pikets or other high level creatures the failure rate is HUGE. With human like NPCs area does work every now and then but is rare and when doing faction missions you can’t really use area because you will attack anything around including your own faction guilders.

Cost
I don't mind being a MHS but the cost just doesn’t seem worth the time. Looking back I could have been a Fencer or TKM with the same if not less amount of effort.

MHS vs TKM
I have done some comparisons where a TKM and myself each did a pike lair. The TKM did it twice as fast unbuffed. I attempted unbuffed but mind cost where so high i got incaped. Buffed the results weren't much different minus the incap.

Conclusion
I like being a MHS but am frustrated with the time/investment cost. I could have been a Fencer/TKM and not be as limited. PVE we can hold our own PVP we're toast without stacking skills but even then . . .

Personally I feel like our area attacks need to be able to do more damage and our weapons needs to have less cost. I also wish we had better damage mitigation/modifiers.

I’m waiting till the combat balance patch before making any final decisions about dropping MHS all together.

Dude, you can pick up TKM in a week. I am keeping Master Swordsman and Master Brawlerand getting Teras Kasi. I hate to break it to all Swordsman but I am 0030 in TKA right now and I can solo level 72 missions on Dantooine that pay 26 k credits faster with my Teras Kasi skills than with my Master Swordsman skills. I am about tomax out on unarmed exp because I am still working on chef for a dumb holocron. The hardest part of TKA is going from Novice Brawler to Teras Kasi Novice. After that, you can pretty much play in god mode at fort tusken with armor and buffs.

Don't listen to Mavil. The combat pass is going to suck. No class will be able to use special moves nearly as much.Who cares if specials won't damage us? We won't be able to spam specials anyway. What fun is there in a PvP battle when everyone can only use 2 or 3 special attacks and the rest are defaultattacks?

With that said, with buffs and armor in pve we are gods. We can do much more then hold are own. Our pvp skills are severly lacking however. Well time to sit back and wait for the magical combat pass.
