Can a fellow swordwielder give me the complete lowdown on this skill, im halfway through the profession and never used it, does it only halp with dodging attacks and if so are there any downsides?

Center of Being considerably raises a swordsmans ability to counterattack, for a set duration of time.
This duration of time increases with the CoB mods you recieve along the skill tree.
At Master it lasts around 35-40 seconds.
Its totally invaluable in PvP and high-end PvE, although the mind cost is a slightly high, it cna be negated with 2 shots of Vasarian Brandy

Aye, it only really starts to come into its own at Master though, once you have all the related skill mods.

Well last night got a max dmg slice on a 2 handed curved sword and a speed slice on a powerhammer (at last, have 4 with high dmg) and seem to do more DPS with basic attacks than specials
very wierd
