For PvE I think it is still the powerhammer. Blast dmg is still one of the least resisted dmg types.

The scythe is a new kinetic dmg weapon. Not the cheapest though because its a limited use schematic. Expect to pay 250-750k for one depending on server. Then pray for a nice slice.

The scythe is a lot faster, but kinetic is probably the most resisted dmg type.

Acklay bones are nice for dmg. They increase the speed and lower the range mods. Still usually a good tradeoff.

Hey Guys, I am a heavy swordsman returning to the game after a three month fiesta.

Can you tell me what is considered to be the weapon of choice for a Heavy Swordsman at the moment, and what are ideal Stats such as speed, damage, etc. for that weapon? I'm not looking for the stats on the best weapon in the game, that only one in ten thousandis luckyto find. Please tell me the stats to look for for a very high quality weapon that can be bought from a highly skilled craftsman in the current game.

If you happen to be on Bloodfin, wouldyou haveany suggestions on who tolook for to make such a weapon?

Go to the Genosian Cave and camp the boss at the bottom (Acklay) for Acklay Bones. These make absolutely killer Powerhammers. Also, the new scythe is pretty handy. You can either get the schematic yourself ( don't be surprised when a krayt pops in to try and ruin your day) or find a WS vendor that stocks them.

I'm not sure about resources and such on Bloodifn, but I have a stock of uber Kam Iron that I have been hoarding, so I use that to get my custom PHs made. Custom PHs with ackaly bones are still the best bet. 788 max dam is the best I have personally seen, thought I hear reports of some 800+ dam PHs floating around Flurry.
