Thread: Blue Bar Management!

Hey all,

The toughest thing I find in being a combat person is how to look after that ol' blue mind stat when fighting. Here's the tactic I normally use when fighting or rather tanking for my guildmates against a high end mob, I would welcome any and all comments on how to improve it:

1) Got out, get full set of mind buffs

2) Pop 2 brandy's before the fighting starts

This is ok, but the mind still goes down badly sometimes, when I get whacked in the head, so I have the following for emergency use

3) Blue milk to heal up the mind until stomach full

4) Muon for emergencies, when things are getting really bad.

The problems that I have are that once the Elder, or whatever it is, starts pounding my mind, it seems to drain rather quickly. I think this might be a combination of her damage and the fact that I am killing myself by spamming HeadHit3 at her, maybe.

Any tips and tricks for managing the mind whilst fighting the higher end mobs? Guess what I am after is what foods everyone uses, what migrations they have to assist mind etc .. all comments welcome!

I tend to over do the mind foods I think - but then I dont have problems when fightin Elders so it works for me.

Zabrak character with full stat migrate towards mind.

Once my mindbuffs are nearly done I pop 1 brandy and 1 ahrisa and catch the ship to Dath

the intial filling of these is almost gone by the time I arrive with the elder - one more brandy and another ahrisa and I'm all set. You then have space left should u need an emergency synthsteak or more mindfoods etc etc

This works for me anyhow - best of luck

Migrating all stats into mind bar and its secondaries is a must...doc buffs cover the normal stats just fine. Two brandies and then have canape in toolbar for emergencies. Mind buff crystal aswell for dire emergencies if you have one.

Ahrisa give you a boost to your Focus, which reduces the Mind "cost" for using special attacks, Headhit, 2handHit, that sort of thing, lasting a similar amount of time to Brandy - 45mins ish.

Synthsteak reduces the damage you take from attacks - can't remember how much by but it basically acts as an extra armour layer, soaking up some extra damage - This is effective for a certain number of attacks or a length of time - whichever comes first i think (don't use synth much so can't remember ).

Canape gives a boost to Focus and Willpower, reducing mindcost AND increasing mind regen - so better than Ahrisa but only last for 11mins ish..

don't do 2 brandys at once, wait a bit for the second. That way you can have 3 brandys running at some point, because your stomach will have the room, and waiting with the second one just makes it all fit better and stuff

In addition to the points above, you can get melee PUPs that reduce HAM cost for specials. I've seen ones that can reduce mind cost up to 33% (not sure whether it goes higher).

Ahrisa is usually more usefull than Canape if you ask me, by the time your two Ahrisa run out you're ready to eat two more and then some, makes you able to spam specials with a full suit of comp on and the heaviest encumberance weapon in history and still not lose a single point of mind.

I have never had to use Ahrisa, Mind has never been a prob, but i cant say that all time since some species have mind restrictions
