Didn't mean to hit enter there...lol....
Ok, here is my question, I took down my first canyon the other night. So it took about 20-30 minutes as I expected, but what I was suprised by was the fact that i only get 4800 2H XP. It almost seems like we were never meant to kill these things even in groups. I get 4800 for a Tuskan Captain for and that only takes about three swings of the sword.....
Anyways for the incredible amount of HAM the Canyon has how does it give only 4800 xp.
Also, the Canyon i faught did not drop anything. Is it rare for a Canyon to drop a pearl?
Your input is greatly appreciated....

Its not too rare, its more about luck than anything else
I've been hunting krayts more than i've been going to the toilet for the past... 4 weeks i believe, and i've had good days, bad days, amazing days, and days where i think god is personally having a pee on my head
For pearls, i always go for Giant Canyons (i use dizzy knockdown good so i nearly always stay on my feet) unless i see a canyon/juvie spawn
Juvies go down in seconds, 50k ham, 15% blast resistance
And, i get 2-3 every spawn while im killing the canyon
If you want tissues, canyon/juvies
If you want Armor segmants and scales, you are a sick sick person!

Its called "xp cap." You're only going to get about 5100 xpmax as a master swordsman.
Mobs don't always drop loot. It sucks, but thats how it is. You can still get pearls off of a canyon, but they have become more rare. Its better to go in a group and cut down giants.
