Why is it that we have 3 seperate AoE attacks? I think, THINK, that area attack 3 is the best (lower posture, blind, most damage)... so wouldn't we be better balanced if we were given at least one different line? Like a KD or dizzy. Unless there is a point to using sweep 2 or spin 2 that I've never discovered (hell, I don't even use area 3 that much since it drains me so quickly). Does anyone know if I'm missing something here?

I have wondered that myself. Basically I think they we're meant as stepping stones. It would be nice if we had a separate dizzy attack or blind attack in place for the sweep and spin attacks. I have never once used either.

All professions have stepping stone style moves. You'll have 1, 2, 3 of a given type of attack. I think in early developement for the swordsman. There was probably something more in mind for the profession vs how it went in the live version. So those skill boxes for sweeps just grant wasted abilities vs the area attacks line.

I see no reason why swordsman do not have a dizzy attack. This is that makes little sense. If you hit someone in the head with a maul. Your more than likely going to kill them. However they survive they will be off center as their head rings. Rifleman can dizzy, and they attack the mind pool. It would be nice if these things get fixed in the upcoming combat retooling.

AE3 is posture down + dizzy. The description says blind, but it's wrong.

yeah and 2h hit 3 dizzies as well. i do it all the time with that attack. even though it doesn't say it is in the description

I am now a swordsman 0-4-4-4, and can no longer do the crazy area attack 3, which was very nice. Now I use sweep 2, which doesn't dizzy, is a little weaker, but does posture change and attack the area around me. I also get the defensive benifits from this line. I agree that it is a stepping stone move, but as the last stepping stone, it allows a player to not master the offence line in sword and still area posture change, while spending the skill points elsewhere. If one can run off a little after the posture change and stick a warcry, they are then kneeling ofr 10 sec, more useful in PVE then PVP unless you want to just freeze the one in front of you. That is the only reason other than it being a stepping stone move that I can think of.

rifleman has 6 aoe attacks lol.
