^Topic^

This has been a very disturbing question in my mind that slows my combat progress down a lot. Can anyone give me any insight on which I should choose. I want to mainly be proficient with PvE, but also decent in PvP. So far I'm thinking about getting master Doc as a secondary profession.

TKA is great for the dizzy/kd and meditation, but I dont see any more use for me being one besides that. When I hunt with a sword, my mind drains like crazy.

Swordsman hits for massive damage... has great counter attacks... is more fun...

TKA is faster, does better damage, they've meditate and powerboost and force of will... they're better, but not as fun.

Up to you. Both are great choices. I picked both (4/1/4/4 TKA at the moment)

Look at the many other Threads on this, Its been Covered Extensivly On both forums.

But to recap a bit

Sword does more Big number damage, But TKM does more DPS. Sword has Blead and TKS doesn't. TKS Gets the Meditation line that cures almost everything, heals wounds, increases regeneration, provides a Self buff, and a Re-Capasitation Ability.

The general concensuse is that TKS is Better for the Most part(Especialy if solo) But HeavySword is more effective againstHardcore Targets. If you Group alot with people who hunt krayt's then go Sword, It you like to do the entier Imperial Outpost soloon Naboo then Go TKS. Or just go with what you think Looks Cooler....personaly i like the way Swordsman look, But TKS Specials look MUCH MUCH better

Acording to Thunderheart the Whole Combat system is Going to get rebuilt with some Melee's being about to take more damage and other being able to Do more damage.....My Guess is it will be balanced like this :

Pikeman - Least Damage, Best tank

Swordsman - Most damage, Worst tank(But still a tank)

Fencer - average damage and tanking.

TKS - Utility Tank(Knockdowns blind dizzy....ect), Average Damage and Tanking)

But thats just a Guess...they could do it entierly backwards with Pikers doing insane damage and Fencers tanking With Heavyswords Doing Utility Stuns and Blinds and TKS being the damage Gods....No one Realy knows. But Going by how the real life Counterparts to the weapons work thats how it should be. Polearmscan be VERYdefensive, 2handed swords and hammers are more Offensive and unarmed / onehanded weapons are much fasterand more balanced.

I think TKA is more useful with knockdown, meditate, and whatnot but I love swordsman. I'm only 0/3/0/1 in swordsman but I can easily solo tusken raiders and other things with only healing because of special attack cost. And in pvp headhit 3 usually incapps anyone thats not melee in one hit and fencers and pikemen in a few but I always have to poison and run from tka guys. But I thing Combat Medic and Swordsman combined are way better than TKA cause you can poison and run from them then after it gets their mind down you can one hit incapp them no matter what. Also when fighting TKA in pvp deathblow as soon as you get the chance, I've gotten killed after gloating over my success when they re-capasitate themselves and attack again.

Heh, TKA DPS is much higher than swordsman unless you are attacking an armored opponent.

My opinion is Swordsman owns PVE, so I would say go that way.

TK does more DPS at first glance, but it gets scattered all over the 3 bars, while we can target mind with a really strong attack (headhit3), so our damage can bedeadlier,point for point.

It's quality damage, too (AP2), so weare still very effective against stuff with medium armor, which tends to be a problem for TKs.

We are also much better vs. multiple enemies, just get in the middle of them and let loose with area attack 3... that move isn'tcalled Domination for nothing! Or, tag each one with a couple mind bleeds and let them bleed out over time, as you take them down one by one.

Our melee toughness is not as high as TK, but with thearmor being made now, you can tank anything.

To top it all off, the powerhammer is a really strong weapon with low mind costs, which is the most sensitive pool to watch in high level PVE.

Another cool thing Ifigured out recently, is that withmaster swordsman and master brawler speed, and a damage slicedpowerhammer with max damage powerup, I do 600DPS (AP2 damage) on autoattack.With the damage bonus vs. stuff with no armor,that's over 900 DPS at zero HAM cost.

From my experiences in PvP Swordie isn't that great. But I'm only 0/2/1/3 so thats obviously no comparison.

TKA is insane with their power. UNLESS the target is armored.

As a TKM my thought process was...

1 IF Armor Rating IS NOT None THEN 3

2 IF IF Armor Rating ISNone THEN 4

3 PRINT /burstrun; /centerofbeing; /healdamage self;

4 PRINT /unarmedknockdown2; /unarmedhit3; /unarmedhit3; /unarmedhit3; /unarmedhit3; /unarmedhit3;

TKA has their strengths, Swordie has theirs. Personally I'd learn to meditate with any profession. Its a very 'spirital' experience, eh?
